Do you know why people say ‘Mr.Man Hee Lee is a messenger of peace’? Because he has the definite answer to peace. He is a Korean War veteran, knows the horrors of war than a person ever knew. In his biography, “I struggled to survive. The sounds of guns, cannons, jets, and bombs did not stop for one second. The heavens, the earth, and my heart trembled, and the sky was filled with smoke.” So the Chairman Lee is running really hard for Peace on the Korean Peninsula. Also, he is the chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL). HWPL is an international peace nonprofit organization registered with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). In 2018 HWPL World Peace WARP Summit, Mr. Man Hee Lee said strongly “Now is the time for the leaders of the two Koreas to join hands and declare peace. Also, it is a critical time for the global community to return to its original state, which is a world of peace.”

He then continued, “In order for Korea to become a nation of peace and for the world to move towards world peace, we need a legally binding instrument (DPCW) that will end war at its source,” calling for everyone to work together to bring peace on the Korean Peninsula and end war around the world as soon as possible.

Chairman Lee, a Korean War veteran, shared his sorrowful experiences of war and encouraged the youth participants. “If I am to say the purpose of the foundation of HWPL, I would say it was founded for the youth of the world. I constantly think of the scenes during the war that took place a long time ago and I thought and still question are we really going to hand down this world that is oppressed and full of injustice to our future generations? No. We must create the world where there is no more tears and sighs. Who can do that job? It’s you, the youth who have the power and knowledge to protect yourselves by joining IPYG’s peace activities. I believe that all youth can become one together for peace. We are one!

Zimbabwe Peace Project: What is Answer to Peace?

On 18 June 2017, in Ward 23, Chitungwiza Zanu PF youths allegedly assaulted MDC-T youths. The MDC-T youths were meeting at the home of Chitungwiza Deputy Organising Secretary of the Women’s Assembly, Anna Mutara when they were attacked. Tension is brewing, as it was in the past.

From 12 December 1979 to 17 April 1980, Zimbabwe Rhodesia was again the British colony of Southern Rhodesia. The Rhodesian Bush War—also known as the Second Chimurenga or the Zimbabwe War of Liberation—was a civil war that took place from July 1964 to December 1979 in the unrecognised country of Rhodesia.

On 18 April 1980, Southern Rhodesia became the independent Republic of Zimbabwe. Conflict today remains rooted in disputes over national power, economic hardship and pre-colonial disputes which have not been resolved. How does Zimbabwe, with its sad memory, maintain its peace?

Zimbabwe Peace Project

They know the value of peace more than anyone else. So, Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) was established in 2000 by a group of non-governmental and church organisations. Since inception, ZPP has produced timely national monthly monitoring reports on violence and human rights violations. The VISION of ZPP is that ‘A Zimbabwe where there is Peace, Justice, Dignity and Development for all.’ Other peace organizations are the ‘African Union‘, ‘Silveria Hourse‘ and ‘Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe (CCJPZ).’ However someone is using war for their own benefit, there are many people who are trying to make peace.

While President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently told the United Nations General Assembly, that he was ready to engage the opposition, for possible working together; on the ground, nothing seems to be happening. Apparently, opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa recently told a media briefing that prioritising nation and peace building is the prime ingredient for national prosperity. But critics say that their speeches were just words and the leaders have no real will. Zimbabweans are stressed, and things are not working out, most citizens have been calling on the national leaders to find the Answer to Peace.

While, the calls are worthwhile, the media has been urged to play key role. A prominent political commentator, Elder Mabhunu agrees, says “The media should play one of its legislative mandate, that is agenda setting, in promoting unity and peace, the key element in nation building and sustainable development.” He says the press should lead the pack in causing a paradigm shift towards national development through reporting on peace initiatives. He continued, “Gone are the days when only conflict reporting was deemed to be real news. Peace news reporting should now take lead.”

“We must always remember the great power that the media has to promote war,
just as it has to promote peace.
Today’s wars no longer occur in isolation within a state.

Whether it’s terrorism or a refugee crisis it is truly a global problem,
and for this reason the solution must also be global.”

Peace Initiative
International Peace Media Community

According to the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), HWPL chairperson Man Hee Lee recently challenged journalists who are the custodians of information as peace messengers. He said the press should use the power of influence it has, to shape leaders’ perceptions. “If journalists dedicate themselves to peace building efforts, the thought of people especially politicians will change.” I think it is the Answer to Peace.

Peace Initiative” is a global journalist network in efforts of facilitating a culture of peace as contribution to conflict resolution and peace building through press freedom and freedom of information stipulated in the UN resolutions and international agreements. Individual journalists and media agencies affiliated with “Peace Initiative” dedicate to spreading news of peace to enhance human rights and protect democracy.

Lastly Mr. Ian Seo, Affiliation Chief Manager of the International Press Department of HWPL HQ, emphasized, “The ultimate goal of the DPCW is to create a firm foundation of law that binds every citizen and nation together, which has never existed on this planet until now.”

He then continued, “This kind of use of force makes it more difficult to resolve conflicts and establish peace and security in that region. Therefore, we need a strong legal instrument such as Article 1 of the DPCW. I fully agree with the principles of this declaration, since there is no alternative to peace negotiations. We can approach the resolution of such complex problems step by step through a legal instrument based on the principles of the DPCW.”

He also gave his heartfelt support for the initiative, stating, “In this context, I am glad that HWPL and journalists from different countries considered the need to create a “Global Peace Media Network” in order to not only inform the public about the existence of conflicts, but also to outline ways to resolve them.”

He explained “There has only been one same answer from Chairman Lee regarding all the conflicts around the globe. It is a person with the spirit of peace. The United Nations, the DPCW, international cooperation, and the participation of civil society are all necessary, but it is the people who are at the center of these instruments. We have come to realize that the collective strength of each person’s will creates the era of peace, and that the spirit of peace we want to achieve is the driving force to make our world one under the title of peace. Many journalists came to say that it is their mission to make a world of peace by developing this spirit through spreading the message of peace to the world. The very result after a series of consultations is the “Peace Initiative” as you can see right now.”

He also explained, “‘Peace Initiative’ is a platform for journalists from different countries to spread the news of peace throughout the world. As a teaching material to understand peace, as a seed to be planted in every part of the world, your will and desire for peace is the very result of what we can and must do for our present and future generations.”

In conclusion, HWPL introduced Peace Education to promote the culture of peace. Thus far, about 165 educational institutions in 12 countries, including the United States, India, Israel, Indonesia, and the Philippines have reportedly offering the Programme.

In January, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the Philippines established a cooperative relationship with HWPL to integrate Peace Education into the Curriculum of State Universities and Colleges.

CHED Commissioner Dr Ronald Adamat signed the Agreement, saying that it was a major achievement for HWPL. “Students would learn to uphold the principle of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and embrace the differences amongst people. They will be equipped with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values in conflict resolution and peace work and be further encouraged to work for the cessation of wars, hostilities, and disunity.”

HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee stressed the mission of global families to implement peace education: “This world is not only for adults but also for young children. War and conflict should no longer occur for children who are born in the future. There is a saying, “If the water above is pure, the water below will be pure”. Everyone in the global village should become a messenger of peace. Then our children will see the peaceful environment and learn from it naturally. If we walk all the way to peace together, the children who are born will also walk along the path of peace together, and peace will automatically be passed down as a legacy to future generations. There is no use in passing down a world of conflict.”

He also added, “Everyone has biological parents, but those who create their hearts are educators. I sincerely plea for educators to take the lead in creating a world of peace,” enlightening the educators who conduct peace education.

“Today one country saying ‘yes, Chairman Lee I accept your declaration’ is not enough, even 10 countries saying this is not good enough. Therefore, we need the United Nations.
In fact, the United Nations came out in 1948 from the Human Rights Declaration and that is a very good document but things have changed from 1948 until now and, therefore, it is necessary that the United Nations adopts the Declaration made by us…so that when the United Nations accepts it, it becomes binding to all the countries in the world.

That is the effort Chairman Lee had been doing and we should all support Chairman Lee in ensuring that this becomes a United Nations document.”

“The MOU and MOA express our intention to work together in this important issue. Sometimes we can think that this problem or question of promoting peace is difficult or sometimes we can think that is very utopian, but we shouldn’t forget that there are many international or law organizations that unfortunately today, even the UN, do not function according to the purpose for which it was established. So that brings the threats to all humanity…. We cannot ignore these facts. So, in our work together we should take into consideration this reality. With all of that, we eagerly support the DPCW and we really believe that it is a very important declaration.”

“I lived under a communist dictatorship that deprived the country and its citizens of freedom for 50 years. People were not allowed to move about freely and the political police monitored their private affairs, invading the privacy of all citizens. Both Romania and Korea were greatly influenced by World War II. This war caused the death of more than 25 million soldiers and over 73 million civilians, as well as created huge economic losses and led to the destruction of many world cultural heritage sites. The atrocities of the two wars in the first half of the 21st century proved to be insufficient for leaders to understand that peace cannot be strengthened only by managing frozen conflicts,” explaining the darkest times of Romania.

He then continued by reminding all in attendance of the power of the people who fought for freedom stating, “The incredible lack of fear and the solidarity of people forced the dictator to flee and freedom was gained. In one of history’s bright moments, people were willing to sacrifice themselves for the ideals of freedom and democracy. The answer regarding the future of freedom and democracy is the choice of each generation and, in the end, of each of us.”

He concluded the lecture by proclaiming, “In order to achieve the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula, leaders, politicians and even the youth must have the consciousness to achieve peace.”

“The event which is taking place today at this stadium is mainly addressed to the youth, who do not want to be forced by their countries’ leaders to fight against each other, and the women who would like to protect, not only themselves, despite being innocent victims, but to protect also their husbands, children and brothers from the horrors that any war inevitably brings about. Youth and women can become the most persuasive advisories of peace in the present and in the future.

Both avoiding war and establishing peacebuilding processes require a laborious effort to create a culture of solidarity outlining a pragmatic style in which the statements should followed by effective actions. The fact that so many distinguished representatives of the world’s public opinion, religious leaders, politicians, diplomats and cultural personalities, are today gathered represents such an efficient action.

Differently from 4 years ago we now have more people, are more united, and are more determined to stop the wars wherever they are. I believe that the Declaration of World Peace proclaimed in Seoul can get everyone around the world, no matter if they are men, women, youth or children, ready to unite under the mantle of peace and take the responsibility to promote the message of peace to the entire world. We are one.”

Nobel peace prize 2018, Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad

The Nobel Peace Prize 2018

The Nobel Peace Prize 2018 was awarded jointly to Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad “for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict.” Their contribution is focusing attention on, and combating, such war crimes. Berit Reiss-Andersen, Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, said “If we want people to say ‘no more war’, we have to show how brutal it is” in interview.

She also said, “Denis Mukwege is the helper who has devoted his life to defending these victims. Nadia Murad is the witness who tells of the abuses perpetrated against herself and others.”

“Each of them in their own way has helped to give greater visibility to wartime sexual violence, so that the perpetrators can be held accountable for their actions.”

Denis Mukwege: “Justice is for Everyone”

The physician Denis Mukwege, a gynecologist and surgeon, has spent large parts of his adult life helping the victims of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since the Panzi Hospital was established in Bukavu in 1999, Dr. Mukwege and his staff have treated thousands of patients who have fallen victim to such assaults. Most of the abuses have been committed in the context of a long-lasting civil war that has cost the lives of more than six million Congolese.

(CNN) Mukwege said he was in the middle of carrying out surgery in his hospital when he heard that he had won the award — and that he dedicated it to all survivors of sexual violence around the world.

“For almost 20 years I have witnessed war crimes committed against women, girls and even baby girls not only in my country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, but also in many other countries,” he said. “To the survivors from all over the world, I would like to tell you that through this prize, the world is listening to you and refusing to remain indifferent. The world refuses to sit idly in the face of your suffering.” He added that he was honored to be named alongside Murad, whom he praised for her strength and courage.

“Denis Mukwege is the foremost, most unifying symbol, both nationally and internationally, of the struggle to end sexual violence in war and armed conflicts. His basic principle is that ‘justice is everyone’s business,'” said Reiss-Andersen.

Nadia Murad: “Decide to be Honest”

Nadia Murad is herself a victim of war crimes. She refused to accept the social codes that require women to remain silent and ashamed of the abuses to which they have been subjected. She has shown uncommon courage in recounting her own sufferings and speaking up on behalf of other victims. In 2016, at age 23, she was made a UN goodwill ambassador for the dignity of survivors of human trafficking.

(CNN) Murad was in Cambridge, Massachusetts, when she learned she had won the prize. “I hope that it will help bring justice for those women who suffered from sexual violence,” she told a Nobel official.

In August 2014, the Islamic State (IS) launched a brutal, systematic attack on the villages of the Sinjar district. In Nadia Murad’s village, several hundred people were massacred. The younger women, including underage children, were abducted and held as sex slaves. While a captive of the IS, at her age 21, Nadia Murad was repeatedly subjected to rape and other abuses. Her assaulters threatened to execute her if she did not convert to their hateful, inhuman version of Islam. (The world support to eliminate #CoerciveConversion, another article) After a three-month nightmare, Nadia Murad managed to flee.

If you want to feel more vividly about the brutal situation, it is helpful to read her article. (The Guardian) This article begins with the sentence ‘The slave market opened at night.’ I admire her for her courage to tell the truth. Nadia Murad said “Deciding to be honest was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, and also the most important.”

This is also set out in the Rome Statute of 1998, which governs the work of the International Criminal Court. The Statute establishes that sexual violence in war and armed conflict is a grave violation of international law. A more peaceful world can only be achieved if women and their fundamental rights and security are recognised and protected in war.

Alfred Nobel’s will
On 27 November 1895, Alfred Nobel signed his last will and testament. Nobel’s will said prize should be given to “the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize is firmly embedded in the criteria spelled out in Alfred Nobel’s will. Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad have both put their personal security at risk by courageously combating war crimes and seeking justice for the victims. They have thereby promoted the fraternity of nations through the application of principles of international law.

So many people had to suffer and be sad because there was no peace. But they have the ‘Right to Peace’. In 2018, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) recognized the Universal Declaration does not include a separate article on “Right to Peace”. Already, HWPL is creating a new order for the world. The purpose of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) is to end the war. If so, war crimes can be eliminated. Actually, DPCW has an article to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict.

Not at all, Law experts agreed that the DPCW is fully aligned with the UN Charter & the UDHR and this Declaration not only encapsulates and supports all of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

DPCW Article 1 – Prohibition of the threat or use of force

1. States should solemnly reaffirm that they refrain from the use of force in all circumstances, save where permitted by international law, and should condemn aggression as constituting an international crime.

3. States should prohibit any act or threat of violence, whatever its motives or purposes, that occurs for the advancement of an individual or collective criminal agenda.

DPCW Article 3 – Friendly relations and the prohibition of acts of aggression

2. States have the duty to refrain from any forcible action that deprives peoples of their rights to self-determination.

4. States should promote accountability, including by investigating alleged violations of international law, in particular, grave violation of the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, and should take measures to ensure that states, citizens and corporations do not contribute to the commission of violations of international law.

The reason of 80% of whold war is Ideology and Religion. DPCW is a fundamental and powerful solution.

DPCW Article 8 – Freedom of religion

2. States should activate and participate in systems to enforce and protect fundamental human rights, eliminating discrimination on the basis of religion or belief, and should refrain from and prohibit the usage of religion by governments, groups, or individuals in order to justify or to incite acts of violence against others. These systems should include, inter alia, judicial mechanisms.

DPCW Article 9 – Religion, ethnic identity and peace

3. Recognising the threat to peaceful coexistence that violent religious extremism may cause, states should implement, in good faith, legal measures against individuals or groups attempting to perpetrate or assist in gross and systematic acts of violence in the name of religion. Such measures should, in extreme cases, include the proscription of faith groups – including sects or cults – that perpetrate acts of violence against the territorial integrity and political independence of any state.

4. States should promote a culture of peace including ensuring conditions in which-
(a) citizens are able to participate in the political affairs of the state as equals regardless of religious or ethnic differences;
(b) a free media is maintained which allows grievances to be aired and addressed;
(c) education is imparted to promote respect and mutual understanding among different religious, belief and ethnic groups;
(d) the right to development of peoples, including the achievement of the UN sustainable development goals, can be realized; and
(e) the wellbeing of all human kind with the participation of women and men to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst nations, states, and peoples may be guaranteed.

He declared support for the DPCW on behalf of the Baltic-Black Sea Board of Directors. He stated, “The MOU and MOA express our intention to work together in this important issue.

With all of that, we eagerly support the DPCW and we really believe that it is a very important declaration,” reaffirming support for the adoption of the DPCW at the UN.

But no one can know until the envelope containing the winner’s name is opened. Speculation has it that Moon Jae-In and Kim Jong-Un deserve the prize because of their unprecedented efforts to ease military tension on the Korean Peninsula and above all their public commitment to denuclearize the North. But skeptics say ‘Not yet’ because the North has taken no concrete step toward denuclearization. Let’s see the public opinion. British online betting site nicerodds rates the Moon Jae-In and Kim Jong-Un as the most likely, followed by Kim Jong-Un and Donald Trump.

Robert Reich, a former U.S. cabinet member, has praised President Moon Jae-in’s “broker diplomacy” between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. He continued “But if there is ever going to be a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, the person who will deserve the Nobel Peace Prize won’t be Trump. It will be South Korea’s president, Moon Jae-in.”

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said the ‘Nobel Peace Prize should go to U.S. President Donald Trump‘, if anyone were to win it for their efforts to resolve the issues with North Korea. He said “the Nobel Peace Prize is for Trump and we only need to bring peace.”

The Chairman Man hee Lee is the messenger of peace who is making the actual result of peace. In 2014, he risked his life to go the area where many people died for 40 years in the bloody conflict in Mindanao. He prayed to God before to go Mindanao. He said “I won’t go if God don’t abide with me.” Then, he met with representatives of the two religions to resolve the religious conflict and drew a peace treaty.

The Chairman Man hee Lee of HWPL asked, “People who are gathered here, is there any want who want war?.”

No one answered. The Chairman Lee continued that “War sacrifices many lives and destroys many buildings. If there is anyone who wants war, please raise your hand.” With silence–, no one raised their hands. The Chairman Man hee Lee shouted strongly, “When there’s war, who is the one who is fighting in front of battle line that is the youth. We are born in the same world, same generation, but their lives cannot blossom, but their lives are lost in the battle!”

The Chairman Lee continued, “Now, we need to make a peaceful world to live. And when we inherit peaceful world to our future generation, nothing would be more valuable. That is why we need to urge all of our presidents. We need to urge them for the world to become peaceful sooner. I’m not saying something wrong. Am I? We have to make our world, our global village being paradise. This is our duty. And, this is what we have to do.” Everyone gave a standing ovation.

Pen used in their signature is made from real bullet shell used in civil war. In pen grip “The bullet record our past. Education is our future.” is written in Spanish.

The only thing left was a referendum. That’s when the Nobel Prize 2016 was announced. But the peace agreement was rejected.

Yes 49.78%       No 50.21%

Also, voter turnout was 37%. Dissenting votes is 57,000 more than vote yes.

The people said ‘it is too generous for rebels.’ The Agreement said ‘War crimes like drug trafficking and kidnapping of civilians in the FARC will be exempted from obligation.’ And It ensures the legitimate political participation. They, who lost a family or whose family were taken hostage in FARC, were against the peace agreement. So, Santos government only passed Colombia peace agreement by parliamentary vote instead of the referendum. But some said “Colombia people refuse it. How can the Congress approve it?”(AFP)

But after two years, what happened in Mindanao?

After 2 years, 15,000 people are in line to greet the HWPL in Philipines. On 24 January 2016, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) held an unveiling ceremony for the Monument to the Declaration of World Peace located in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Province. This monument is the second HWPL Peace Monument to be erected in the Philippines. Also, the Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim of MILF decided to designate January 24th of every year as ‘HWPL Day’. I think Colombia needs to learn ‘how HWPL achieves peace in Mindanao’.

MILF chairman of Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim

“The Chairman Lee brought a really powerful message to achieve peace that we hope and desire. It means HWPL and MILF are partner for peace. Peace is not a matter confined to a single person but to every individual. Therefore anyone who is part of this global family must all become messengers of peace. Let us all participate and become the messengers of peace to pass on peace as an eternal legacy for the future generations!”

So many people had to suffer and be sad because there was no peace. They have the ‘Right to Peace’. In 2018, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) recognized the Universal Declaration does not include a separate article on “Right to Peace”. So HWPL is creating a new order for the world.

In order to fundamentally resolve international conflicts and crises, The HWPL international law peace committee was founded to discuss ways to achieve peace through international law. It is composed of prominent legal experts of different nationalities. After three formal committee meetings, the DPCW was drafted. On March 14, 2016, 10 articles and 38 clauses of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) was declared. Currently, there is a worldwide campaign to introduce the DPCW to the United Nations. Now, they collected 734,055 signatures (as of October, 2017) and 173,170 people of 176 countries participated.

Law experts agreed that the DPCW is fully aligned with the UN Charter & the UDHR and this Declaration not only encapsulates and supports all of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). People around the world want the DPCW to be adopted by UN. The new international peace law will change the history of mankind.

Connection with Nobel Peace Prize 2017

Gennady Burbulis FARC eSwatini DPCW Confederation of Indian Bar Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Chairman Man Hee Lee chairman Lee Central American Parliament Baltic-Black Sea Forum Why ICAN won? ICAN is the abbreviation for International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons. They awarded “for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons.” Successfully on 7 July 2017, The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) is adopted at the United Nations by a vote of 122-1! The ICAN said ‘TPNW‘ is “a landmark international agreement that outlaws, categorically, the worst weapons of mass destruction and establishes a pathway to their elimination.

But since adoption, it was criticized for non-binding.
When voted of 122-1, one third of 193 U.N. member countries boycotted the vote. ‘Authorized’ nuclear nations, U.S, Russia, China, UK, France boycotted. Also ‘Unauthorized’ nuclear nations, India, Pakistan,  Israel, North Korea boycotted. The number of actual signature is 53 countries.
The U.S. State Department said “Unfortunately, This treaty will not make the world more peaceful, will not result in the elimination of a single nuclear weapon, and will not enhance any state’s security.” Also the Britain and France said the prohibition wouldn’t work. The Russia said ‘It is the romance which is misleading but also dangerous.’ But the Norwegian Nobel Committee supported the ICAN‘s peace movement. It is important!!!
Nobel’s support is equal to that of the rest of the world.

What is the ICAN’s ground-breaking efforts?

TPNW contributed to the continued role of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), emphasizing its “vital role in promoting international peace and security”.

  • There is the distinction between states entitled to possess such weapons and non-nuclear weapon states in NPT. But in TPNW it is not.
  • The TPNW also forbids states party to the treaty from allowing “any stationing, installation or deployment” of nuclear weapons on their territory, a prohibition that is not explicitly included in the NPT.
  • States party to the TPNW are prohibited from conducting nuclear tests, while the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) has not yet entered into force.

If so, the nuclear disarmament is a natural consequence. Actually, DPCW has an article of elimination of nuclear weapons. I know many people think it is a naive desire. But the success of ICAN already show you that ‘the world wants peace’. We must keep the Nobel’s will.

DPCW Article 1 – Prohibition of the threat or use of force

3. States should prohibit any act or threat of violence, whatever its motives or purposes, that occurs for the advancement of an individual or collective criminal agenda.

DPCW Article 2 – War potential

2. States should not produce, assist in, encourage, or induce; the production of weapons of mass destruction, inter alia, chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, or weapons capable of causing indiscriminate or widespread and unnecessary suffering, or weapons incompatible with international humanitarian law.
3. States should take measures to ensure that existing weapons of mass destruction, weapons capable of causing widespread and unnecessary suffering and weapons incompatible with international humanitarian law are gradually dismantled or destroyed. States should cooperate in disarmament and the reduction of arms stockpiles, ideally under international supervision. Decommissioned weapons manufacturing facilities should be repurposed, so that they may serve purposes that are beneficial to humanity in general.

He declared support for the DPCW on behalf of the Baltic-Black Sea Board of Directors. He stated, “The MOU and MOA express our intention to work together in this important issue.

With all of that, we eagerly support the DPCW and we really believe that it is a very important declaration,” reaffirming support for the adoption of the DPCW at the UN.

Moon Jae-in has been performing well the Role of Messengers of Peace. It is clear that the Moon Jae-in is the midwife of the North-Korea USA Summit in many ways. By turning all the credit to President Trump, Mr. Moon made him an active participant in the North-Korea USA Summit. Bill Clinton, former president of the United States assessed it “Moon Jae-in the president is a true hero”. In the process, President Moon left a famous saying in Korean diplomatic history that “the Nobel Peace Prize is for Trump and we only need to bring peace.”

UN Official text:

“Over the past year, something miraculous has taken place on the Korean Peninsula. For the first time in history, the leader of North Korea crossed the Military Demarcation Line to visit Panmunjeom. A historic summit between the United States and North Korea was also held on the Sentosa Island in Singapore.

Chairman Kim Jong Un and I removed the shadow of war and resolved to usher in an era of peace and prosperity. At the U.S-North Korea summit, the two sides agreed to work towards achieving complete denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, ending hostile relations and establishing a permanent peace regime. President Trump and Chairman Kim moved and gave hope to those who desire peace all around the world.

North Korea dismantled its nuclear test site in Punggye-ri under the observation of the international community. The United States and the Republic of Korea suspended large-scale joint military exercises and built trust.

I would like to thank and salute President Trump and Chairman Kim‘s courage and resolve as they usher in a new era on the Korean Peninsula as well as in U.S-North Korea relations.”

He continued, “On April 20, North Korea officially ended its policy of nuclear development and has since devoted all of its efforts towards economic development. On September 9, in the ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of its foundation, North Korea expressed its commitment to peace and prosperity instead of boasting its nuclear capabilities. North Korea moved out of longstanding isolation on its own initiative and stands before the international community once again.

Now, it is the international community’s turn to respond positively to North Korea’s new choice and efforts. We must assure Chairman Kim that he has made the right decision in committing to denuclearization. We must encourage North Korea to stay on the path that leads to permanent and solid peace.

The Role of the United Nations is crucial. The UN Secretariat has continued its efforts for dialogue and engagement, including the invitation of North Korean officials to international conferences.

The United Nations has stated its commitment to “leave no one behind.” My sincere hope is that the UN’s vision of sustainable development will be realized on the Korean Peninsula.

I have no doubt that if the international community paves the way, North Korea will not stall on making strides towards peace and prosperity. The Republic of Korea will spare no effort to guide North Korea towards that path.

I would like to call on the United Nations to share its experience and wisdom.”

The president Trump derided the chairman Kim as “Little Rocket Man” and threatened to “totally destroy North Korea.” at UN General Assembly a year ago. But now he praised the Chairman Kim for his courage. This Trump’s speech comes after South Korean President Moon Jae-in gave a personal message to Trump from North Korea’s Kim. This is the message they talked in the inter-Korean talks last week.

The White House’s official transcript(a partial extract):

“With support from many countries here today, we have engaged with North Korea to replace the specter of conflict with a bold and new push for peace.

In June, I traveled to Singapore to meet face to face with North Korea’s leader, Chairman Kim Jong Un.

We had highly productive conversations and meetings, and we agreed that it was in both countries’ interest to pursue the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Since that meeting, we have already seen a number of encouraging measures that few could have imagined only a short time ago.

The missiles and rockets are no longer flying in every direction. Nuclear testing has stopped. Some military facilities are already being dismantled. Our hostages have been released. And as promised, the remains of our fallen heroes are being returned home to lay at rest in American soil.

I would like to thank Chairman Kim for his courage and for the steps he has taken, though much work remains to be done. The sanctions will stay in place until denuclearization occurs.

I also want to thank the many member states who helped us reach this moment — a moment that is actually far greater than people would understand; far greater — but for also their support and the critical support that we will all need going forward.

A special thanks to President Moon of South Korea, Prime Minister Abe of Japan, and President Xi of China.”

RI YONG HO, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, asked the US for less sanctions and more understanding. He still showed North Korea’s willingness to denuclearize and said “The Korean Peninsula, the hottest spot in the globe, will become the cradle of peace and prosperity.” Ri ascribed this progress almost entirely to efforts by the Koreas but he said that the US continued to damage the peace protest by mistrusting North Korea. Four days ago, Trump highlighted his achievement with North Korea, but added that sanctions will continue until denuclearization is carried out. Frequently reemphasising the need for trust, Ri said there was “no way” North Korea would unilaterally disarm themselves before “coercive” sanctions were lifted.

This 918 WARP Summit is the core of HWPL’s peace movement. The main agenda of the WARP Summit will be the introduction of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) to the United Nations (UN) as a binding resolution.

DPCW is aligned with UN Charter

Likewise, the Universal Declaration does not include a separate article on “Right to Peace”. This is why the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was held. So HWPL is creating a new order for the world. It is DPCW! It can be the Right to Peace.

Like proof of this, delegations of Permanent Missions of the UN and HWPL gathered at the Office of the Commonwealth (New York) to discuss the promotion of sustainable peace and human rights, on Friday 7 September 2018. Also, they discussed intensively the way to promote the 918 WARP Summit. Because the walks of HWPL are alignment with the core purposes of the United Nations, the delegations have no choice but to support the DPCW.

Finally, the Last East Germany Prime Minister Lothar de Maizière, who achieved reunification, said (not this year) that “Reunification was the will of heaven. It happens like a miracle when human endeavor is met with internal and external conditions.”

73rd UNGA Address by South Korean President Moon Jae-in:

Ladies and gentlemen,

We all desire peace. Peace represents the relatives and neighbors we love, and the hometowns we long for. Peace means sharing what we have together. A peace we have all achieved together is a peace for all. I’m confident that all of you will always be with us on the path to permanent peace and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula as well as on the journey to a peaceful world.

Thank you.

Peace is up to you :0 Good luck!

‘The past does not need to be the future. A new world can begin today. It is the last chance for the peace of humanity.’ These sentences come from promotional video of ‘2018 HWPL World Peace Summit: 4th Anniversary of the WARP Summit‘. This video shows very well what kind of mindset when they are dealing with world peace. They think that achieving peace is ‘Out Duty that we have to do’ of our time at any cost. Can you feel their determination? Thousands of leaders and citizens from around the globe will gather for 3 days in Republic of Korea with the great determination of creating a peaceful world together.

The IPYG is one of the two wings of HWPL and they are working with the Youth for world peace. With 851 organizations from 111 countries around the world, peace is being realized. (as of October 2017) How much faster do they run? They participated in more than 200 activities and events in 44 countries for peace. How long? ‘Just in this year!’ They show a great power. The reasons for that are eager for peace and youth. In particular, IPYG hosted the Peace Walk, which has been an annual event since 2013. They created a movement to promote the true culture of peace. It is based on Article 10 ‘Spreading a Culture of Peace‘ of the DPCW.

“For World Peace to become a reality,
this is the duty of all youth, everywhere.”

It was founded in accordance with the spirit of the HWPL. Do you know why HWPL can achieve PEACE? The Definite Answer to Peace is the DPCW and IPYG & IWPG. Then, what is the Role of the Youth? Owners of the future! They protect their future and leave sustainable peace as a legacy for future generations. I think it is very important to nurture the youth becoming peace leaders with a sense of ownership in regard to the future.

WE YOUTHS,

We’re working to bring the DPCW to the United Nations. And it needs the support of presidents in each country to be passed. So you can ask “What can I do?.” I’m going to give you a strong statement. Each country is made up of citizens and the president must listen to them. I really want to ask you. If you acknowledge that this is indeed the answer to peace, please be sure to support and urge your President to pass the DPCW to the United Nations. Then, this DPCW could be established as a real international law, which is the answer to peace. Therefore, your country and you will be remembered around the world as the leading country to support the law of peace for the first time.

“Someone asked me. A young South African man said, ‘I want to convey my
opinion to the President of South Africa. But I don’t think the president will
listen to me.’ So I answered. And I’m going to tell you this because it applies

Adoption of the DPCW as a UN resolution

  1. Law for Peace
Implementation of the DPCW in the form of a UN resolution to fundamentally prevent armed conflicts and establish an order of permanent peace
  2. Alliance of Religions
Harmony among religions, which lead the world and deal with spiritual matters
  3. Peace Education
Peace education to build the character expected of global citizens

Everyone is important, but I think the most important point at this time is the Adoption of the DPCW as UN resolution. To achieve this goal, around 1,000 experts in various fields from around the world are discussing now the role of the HWPL Peace Advisory Council in turning the DPCW into legally binding form & national and regional support for the adoption of the DPCW as a UN resolution.

Specially, I want to thank the HWPL International Law Peace Committee and the HWPL Peace Advisory Council for their dedication. They took the leading roles in the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) which was proclaimed on the 14th of March 2016. The DPCW has been verified as the definite answer to peace.

Political leaders, including former and current heads of state, ministers, national assembly speakers and Supreme Court justices, together with HWPL are currently making practical efforts. I am really grateful to these people. They are trying wholeheartedly towards the enactment of an international law for peace through the introduction of the DPCW to the UN. At this year’s international law session, high-ranking officials and the HWPL international law advisory committee will create concrete measures to advance the process of the realization of the implementation of an international law for peace.

Don’t you know what the DPCW is?
The DPCW is a legal document that was drafted by HWPL and proclaimed on 14 March 2016, purposing to create a legally binding instrument for the cessation of war and establishment of peace. It is composed of 10 articles and 38 clauses, and offers universal values and principles such as peaceful conflict resolution, promotion of friendly relations between states, freedom of religion, and the spreading of a culture of peace, for the advancement of peace in both nations and civil society.

Hon. Deputy Paula Lorena Rodriguez Lima, During these 14 months she talked to persuade every single one of 120 congressmen and women

The Central American Parliament(Diputados del Parlamento Centroamericano, PARLACEN), with 6 member-states, has now completed the official process of approval for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) after a year of discussion in the Commission of Peace, Public Security and Human Rights. It is an amazing achievement! Hon. Deputy Paula Lorena Rodriguez Lima, current Representative of Guatemala in PARLACEN, took the leading rold in this adoption. The most amazing thing is that she talked every single one of 120 congressmen and women to persuade the value of DPCW.

The resolution includes the following,

“It is intended that the Central American Parliament raise the flag of peace among the entire international community, taking this message to all governments, international organizations, civil society, political parties and others.

Based on what was considered above and the legal basis invoked, the Commission of Peace, Public Security and Human Rights issues favorable report with amendments to the initiative AP / 1278-278 / 2016 the “DECLARATION OF PEACE AND CESSATION OF WAR”.

In the DPCW promoted by HWPL on March 14, 2016, the respect of human rights and international law is fundamentally promoted, especially the role of the states in relation to the promotion of Peace, Justice and Freedom.”

And He also supported the DPCW on behalf of the pan-African Parliament (PAP). This means that every country in Africa will support the DPCW. Also, two countries (eSwatini and Seychelles) send documents that they would support the DPCW on a national level. I don’t know how much you recognize it, but it’s a huge result!!! And what I’d like to focus on the most is that the Chairman Man hee Lee declared, in 2013, ‘we created an international law and the presidents should sign here. And then, the war will be eliminated all over the world’. It really comes true.
