About 200,000 handwritten peace letters have already been sent to incumbent presidents from 193 countries with U.N. membership. Already, young people from all over the world are rising to call for supporting the DPCW.
No one can stop the huge flow.
Peace Letter from Fa’alia
I can’t write down the full text of her letter here, but I’m only going to introduce some.
“When people ask the question ‘What is Samoa like?’, the first word that comes to my mind is “peaceful”. However, peace was not always part of the history of Samoa. Samoa has faced many wars and conflicts throughout its history. These wars and conflicts, like many others, resulted in the loss of life, excruciating pain, social instability and the loss of security.”
According to the 2016 Australian census, there are a total of 75,755 Australians with Samoan ancestry. Usually, Samoans we know are the strongest. But in the history of Samoa, there was so much pain and sadness.
Let me give you an example. In the Second Samoan Civil War (1898–1899), two leaders fought, so they became two countries, two peoples. What makes the situation worse is foreign intervention. DPCW is blocking this completely. Tanumafili I with United States and United Kingdom vsMata’afa with Germany.
Let’s hear more about this young man who knows the pain of war better than anyone else.
“As an Australian-Samoan youth and as a member of all the youth of this world, I have a duty to stand up and protect the youth of our nation, the youth of Australia and the youth of the world. This is a duty that prevents me from standing by idly and not taking action. I have a duty to help bring hope and peace to our world.”
This is not only his duty. Will you wish others to do it? This is our job, our role and our duty. We must do it. Young people of the world, let’s join them.
Honorable Prime Minister, we humbly ask that you take on this role as part of the forefront of the movement in the Oceanic and Pacific region by providing your support for World Peace and the solution to peace that the DPCW contains. We ask for your support for the DPCW to become a legally binding document in the United Nations in order that it may bring about the peace that our world desperately longs for.
Please become a leader that helps pave the way for peace for all future generations.
On the day of the press conference that was attended by 57 media outlets from Korea, HWPL’s Chairman Man Hee Lee stated, “Everyone, despite being busy, by gathering here together like this I can understand that you have come with the same heart that believes peace is better than war. I sincerely ask you (members of the press) to focus on reporting and working hard so that peace can be achieved (in both Korea and the rest of the world)”.
Finally, in regard to the meaning of the 3rd anniversary of the proclamation of the DPCW, HWPL’s Chairman Man Hee Lee, explained, “It is to put an end to war around the world, and if there is no war, then the world of peace can be realized. That is why we want to achieve a world of peace that is free from war, which can then become a shining legacy for future generations. If you stop doing this for even a short while, then it will just cool down. We must do it until the time when it is completely finished. If it is done in this way, then you will not be still but will continue working hard.
One more thing, the cessation of war or the realization of peace are not things that are the personal work of a single person. If we are called as the family of the world, then it goes without saying that this is relevant to each one of us. If we truly value this world and ourselves and love the citizens of our own countries, then not only leaders but everyone should acknowledge this. It doesn’t make sense to not give unconditional support. If there is something wrong, then the reason must be stated clearly, but just refusing to do (without giving a reason) is not right. Do not be like that. If all us together become one in heart and have the same will, then we must create a world without war”.
He then directly addressed all the reporters and members of the press present stating, “Try reading the 10 articles and 38 clauses of the DPCW. All of this work will be done quickly only if the reporters take the lead. Please remember this,” reiterating the importance of the role that the media plays in the achievement of peace.
Why Religion? This is because 80 percent of the war was caused by religion. Isn’t religion there to live well? Isn’t that what religious leaders teach you? But look at the reality before your eyes. How much does religion have to do with peace?
There are a lot of people trying, but things are still difficult. Who goes to fight when war happens? Someone’s son, someone’s father. Who in the world can compensate for their death? Is money all right? They don’t come back alive. How much pain is left of the family? Can you handle it? This is a really difficult problem.
HWPL WARP Offices in the World
Seeing the current status of the religious war, HWPL thinks the solution of peace. ‘How can we make it?’ The answer they found is the Scriptures. Because it represent the accumulation of not only the spiritual and moral teachings of the respective faiths, but also a fundamental standard of human conduct.
Although the common objective that all religion is the great things, these messages are often overlooked by people. So peace is becoming an elusive concept. So HWPL approach towards the root cause of this hostility between faiths, defined as the misunderstandings that arise from the misinterpretation of these scriptures. Eminent religious experts recognized it as an ‘Innovative Approach’. The alliance of religions is the earnest hope of all humanity.
In the short four years from its official beginning, the WARP Offices have seen rapid expansion with 218 offices now operating in 126 countries. With approximately 2,500representative religious leaders as participants, they dedicated themselves to thoroughly researching what a “Trustworthy Scripture” should contain.
91 percent of all religious leaders agreed that the following six attributes.
1) Good and Evil 2) Birth, Aging, Sickness and Death 3) The Spiritual Realm 4) Cleansing of Sins 5) History and Genealogy 6) Prophecy and Fulfillment
The Chairman Man hee Lee said, “If religions are in harmony with each other, there will be no reason to fight. To achieve harmony among religions, people of religion should examine and compare their scriptures to find the truth and become one in that truth. People of religion are responsible for leading people of the world in the right path.”
On February 21st, 1,000 social representatives including youth and women from ASEAN member states, religious leaders, and NGOs participated in the ‘2019 Southeast Asia Peace Forum’ held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to discuss practical approaches to peace building in the region.
The participants, both national leaders and students and citizens, wrote supporting letters for the DPCW, which will then be presented to their respective national leaders and international organizations to advocate for the implementation of the declaration at the UN.
Mr. Parlindungan Purba, S.H., MM., Chairman of the Second Session of Regional Representative Council in Indonesia, urged for the UN adoption of the DPCW, saying “We will establish clear and practical plans to increase the number of countries which are supporting the DPCW. There is also a moral obligation to fulfill our mission to urge for peace and the DPCW. We must be peace creators.”
Mr. Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, said “Now we have the answer within the 10 articles and 38 clauses of the DPCW to achieve peace and end war. There is no one who doesn’t want peace. The leaders of the nations should do what their people want them to do. This is the true politics that lead us from death to life. There shouldn’t be anyone who disturbs this work of peace. We all have to put our efforts together. When we work together for peace, it will be the light that shines all over the world”.
On February 19th, the ‘2019 Pacific Leaders’ Summit for Peace, Sydney’ was held at the New South Wales Parliament House in Australia with HWPL, an international NGO under the UN ECOSOC. It was held for the South Pacific leaders to call for the introduction of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) at the UN General Assembly in 2019. During this conference, 12 high-level government leaders from eight countries in the South Pacific showed their support for DPCW.
Mr. Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, urged for joint efforts towards the enactment of the DPCW by saying, “Now we have the answer within the 10 articles and 38 clauses of the DPCW to achieve peace and end war.
“I sincerely thank you for your education in the spirit of noble truth search for the future of the nation and people. And I sincerely congratulate you on the successful implementation of peace education by Master Peace, whom I met in Romania last year. Here in Romania, I felt the people’s earnest desire for freedom in their hearts. I maybe it began when they achieved democratization in Eastern Europe 30 years ago. I think it can make them to continue to strive for better development.
And Mr. Man Hee Lee, Chairman of HWPL, despite his near 90s, has been a global village owner with no spare life. He made an appeal for cooperation for peace, carrying out a schedule that even young people could not afford. His firm commitment and actions are the best and most living peace education for all mankind.
As you can see from the video of how great the peace fruits of HWPL have been, the fruit of HWPL has never been achieved by a private organization and not achieved by the state. What’s next is that young people and women, who have inherited the spirit of peace, are creating peace together with the speed of light.
As a mother of children, I hope that our children will no longer grow up in a culture of war and violence, but live happily and safely in a culture of peace. If you continue to strive for peaceful education and the spread of peace and culture, such as DPCW, which is the definite answer to restoring the original shape of the global village and achieving peace, I am confident that our children who will lead our future will live in a peaceful world where there is no more war and violence.
When you change your mind, you can change your culture. When you change your culture, you can change the destiny of the world.
Let’s awaken a sense of peace and create a culture of peace. And let’s protect our children from war and conflict and pass on peace to posterity. As the Korean saying goes, “A good beginning is half the battle,” you have opened the beginning of HWPL peace education, so please continue to implement and promote it to spread beyond Romania to all over Europe.
Let us all create a peace culture with one heart to end the war and create a world of eternal peace.
The role of HWPL is important more than ever. Today, we live in a different World. Open a new era of peace with HWPL! The founder of HWPL, Chairman Man Hee Lee, has been tirelessly giving effects with contribution. We are hopeful that DPCW, in the long run, will definitely get status of “Law of Peace”. In order to create a peaceful world without war, We need more than just a practical law. International women groups are gathered to practice a warm “mother’s Love” where peace is needed.
Harmony, Communication, and Peace with the 3.7 Billion Women in the World
At the 3rd of Apr., 2019 09:00(GMT +3), IWPG World Peace Conference in Europe is held now. 3.7 billion Women is Our Hope and Our Power. Women’s life and tolerance to protect their children is the “KEY” of peace. Women, please help. War kills too many people. Your role is very important.
At the 2nd of Apr., 2019 16:00(GMT+3), 2019 PEACE EDUCATION Conference was held in Romania during HWPL 31st World Peace Tour. It was attended by Emil Constantinescu, Romania’s 3rd president, and Romania’s current education minister. Now, Peace education has become more important than any other era. With peace education, what does the future hold for the citizens these children grow up to be? There are children with the seed of peace. The efforts of everyone here can help them blossom.
One professor of international law said “Actually, the DPCW document has synthesized many of the existing documents, many of the existing instrument and the declarations which has been drawn for building peace and ending war. The strength of the DPCW is simplicity and it’s very accommodative with the existing norms. So this is its strength and very confident that if the DPCW is well read and well understood by the global community, then we can build a consensus for putting more effort into building peace in the world.”
The Chairman Lee emphasized the meaning of Heavenly Culture and Peace will be achieved through DPCW. Mr. Man Hee Lee said “We now know nothing outweighs the value of peace. The religious world is becoming one with us and so are schools worldwide. They are becoming one with HWPL to achieve a world of peace. What does HWPL stand for? Heavenly Culture, the culture of heaven. We will surely end wars and bring peace. Everyone involved in implementing international law based on the DPCW will be remembered in history. Moreover, I believe that with heavenly culture, we can change the world into a better place. I firmly believe this. We are one! We are one!”
IMPORTANCE of HWPL Peace Education
STRONGER MILITARY STRONGER WEAPONS STRONGER SECURITY But can it really be the answer for building peace? How can we achieve peace?
By teaching our children to nurture the spirit of peace, you can build a world of peace without seeking war or weapons. This simple innovative idea started at HWPL. Peace Education is now touching hearts around the globe regardless of nationality, race, religion, culture and ideology. The way to achieve world peace once seemed so far away.
Would you believe it if children already have the answer?
“Children, What is peace to you?”
“Peace is love! I love my friends very much so we do not fight.” “Peace means forgiveness. Because when my friend says sorry to me, I just forget everything and I just hug him and it feels so nice.” “For me, Peace is to be grateful to our parents.”
“Peace is love. As I’m living with us, I’m living in love with my friends and this is only peace from us.” “For me, Peace is to become one, to become one with neighbors who are different from me.”
“Cooperation. Nations around the world should gather for the common reason and aim to create the peaceful world.”
“Without peacefulness, we don’t have self-love and self-esteem. When we are peaceful, we have self-love and self-esteem, and focus on self-actualization.”
IPYG Peace Letter Campaign Ads were put on the 27 newspapers of the United States, which send a letter to Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States. I can feel the hearts of American youth who truly desire a world without war and conflict!
International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) is one of two wings of HWPL, which affiliated with 805 organizations of 110 countries. The number of member is 4,600,000. Representative of IPYG said “The future owner is the youth. We should have the responsibility to lead the whole world. The first goal is to submit the DPCW to the UN General Assembly in the form of a draft resolution and have it adopted. Let us become all heroes of peace together”
So, IPYG Peace Letter Campaign is active in Washington D.C., South Africa, Indonesia, New Zealand, Namibia, Malaysia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Korea and others. In less than a year, 165,782 Peace Letters are sent to 193 incumbent presidents and Ambassadors to the U.N.
Also, Major media outlets like FOX, KTLA, NBC, ABC reported the youth’s movement for peace and a total of 599 online articles were released. Why are so many people interested? HWPL is famous for its great achievements in the shortest time. What have they achieved so far? Look for other posts.
I’ll show you a little taste. Why DPCW?
The international community has been regulating military actions through cooperation among countries in various forms, including treaties and agreements that restrict war, which is centering on the United Nations and other international organizations. But the limits are clear. Calls to regulate international disputes fairly through international law were continued, but international organizations and current international law lack binding force against all countries.
In a speech on the enactment of international law, the Chairman Man hee Lee of HWPL said, “How can you compensate for those who lost their lives? If what used to be is complete, there is no need to re-create. We need to create a new international law because the existing international law cannot end the war in this world, and NOW let’s create an ‘eternal international law’ so that we won’t have to fix it again. Instead of saying who is right and who is wrong, we have to actually work for this cause.”
An Open Letter to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump
Dear Mr. President,
We are the youth of America
At such a crucial time within our nation’s history, we are urging your support for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), a ground breaking peace law that many global leaders and heads of state are diligently working to have adopted by the UN General Assembly. It offers a legal framework for peaceful conflict resolution, the preservation of natural habitats, and the freedom of religion for all people. These causes align with American values and the hearts of American youth who truly desire a world without war and conflict. The DPCW protects what Americans deeply cherish, such as freedom and advancing peace around the world.
We believe that the work of peace is an inherent calling for every individual. As the acting President of the United States, your voice and support are a critical part of building a foundation of peace for future generations both here and abroad.
We sincerely hope that you will join our efforts by supporting the DPCW when it is introduced to the UN General Assembly. Many heads of state have already pledged their written support because they desire to end war and conflict. If we truly desire peace and love our country, how could we not support such a legislative solution to achieving peace together?
We request your reply and thank you for your service to our nation, Mr. President.

Subtitle: Civil Society’s Role for Peaceful Unification of the Korean Peninsula
Thursday, 14 March 2019, 4:00 PM (GMT+9)
The 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) was held on 14 March 2019 in Seoul, Korea and other major cities around the world. They shared the outcomes of activities undertaken to introduce the 10 articles and 38 clauses of the DPCW to the United Nations and the present status of the international community’s support.
Mr.Pravin H. Parekh, President of the Confederation of Indian Bar and HWPL International Law Peace Committee Chairperson, said “I am very happy to attend the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the DPCW to review and discuss the inclusion of DPCW in the curriculum of law school students in order to achieve real world peace. Mr.Man Hee Lee created the right consciousness of students and teachers around the world. The Chairman Lee is committed to ensuring that all countries and citizens have a dream of achieving world peace.
He says that world peace can be achieved when there is supports from all countries around the world, as well as the support of UN, UNESCO and UNICEF. Mr.Lee continues to contact not only the United Nations and other international organizations, but also the rulers and intellectuals of other countries for world peace. Young people, including schools and universities, are huge supporters of HWPL. We are fighting for a harmonious world against clearly exceeding cruelty, violence and imbalance.
At this moment, every young man, every woman, every citizen is sending Peace Letters to representatives of each country. Peace Letter appeals to the presidents of each country to support DPCW to be introduced to the United Nations. And we will adopt DPCW through the United Nations. Today will be remembered as an important day in an effort to achieve global peace. We are one.”
Also, around 30,000 participants discussed the role of civil society for peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula. Through a lecture on “Civil Society’s Role for Peaceful Unification, Exchange, and Cooperation of the Korean Peninsula,” there will be a discussion on cooperation for building up social consensus on peace and unification among civil society. They also had time to write peace letters to PresidentMoon Jae-in as a kind of “Peace Letter Campaign.” What did they say to the president?
The President Moon is now in Malaysia. ASEAN is very important to Korea. At the interview with Asia News Network, President Moon emphasized “Peace & Prosperity.” He’s really made a lot of effort for peace so far. From the PyeongChang Peace Olympics to Inter-Korean summits with Kim Jong-un, Moon placed the greatest value on peace.
If you want to know more about Peace on the Korean Peninsula
Hello, Mr. President. I am a college student who loves peace. I know that you are always trying to make peace and that you are still working hard. But I know it’s a lot of trouble. Like Socrates, you’re acting as a midwife, but there are times when things don’t work out. As a Korean, I am studying abroad in Sydney now, but I am very sorry.
I remember you, Mr. President, who was a human rights lawyer. Human-centered politics has touched the hearts of countless people. Also, I remember you said at the UN General Assembly that “ending the Korean War” is an “urgent task.” (Reference) I completely agree with you. But why hasn’t it been done yet? Do you know how to achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula? How on earth can we do this?
The answer is “Civil Society.” The Role of Civil Society is really important. That’s why HWPL associated with IPYG and IWPG. IPYG brings 1.8 billion young people from all over the world together and IWPG brings 3.7 billion women from all over the world together. If citizens around the world shout in one direction with one voice, which leader can stop it? We can do it. You can’t do it because you don’t.
Is this just a young man’s dream? Is it naive? If that’s my only story, of course, it could be. But HWPL makes a difference. Because there’s a huge number of people coming to HWPL. Why is that? HWPL is considered by foreign media and experts to be the most powerful and practical international NGO. The real reason is that HWPL has the answer to peace, “the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).”
DPCW, declared on March 14, 2016, was created by 21 prominent international law professionals, “The HWPL International Peace Law Committee.” H.E. Viktor Yushchhenko, Former President of Ukraine, said “The Declaration on Peace and the Cessation of War (DPCW) is a full and measured document and it is worth supporting political leaders and citizens around the world.” In particular, I think the Article 5 of the DPCW can help us. Some of the following are excerpts.
Article 5 – Self-determination
1. The duty of every state to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any other state includes the duty not to engage in any action that would result in the dismemberment of any state, or force the secession or annexation of any territorial unit from that state.
2. Subject to the right to self-determination of peoples, states shall not engage in any intervention that seeks to divide or separate a state in a manner that is contrary to the rules of international law.
3. Subject to the provisions of the present article, States should encourage identifiable nation-states that have been divided by longstanding external or historical factors to engage in co-operation and dialogue. States should ensure that divided peoples are provided with their right to self-determination, including, inter alia, measures which may result in unified government.
President Moon Jae-in, if you really love the people and the country, please sign the DPCW!
IPYG all over the world is urging presidents from around the world to sign the DPCW. In less than a year, 165,782 Peace Letters were collected. DPCW already has national supports such as Seychelles, Eswatini, and Comoros. In 2017, the central american parliament passed a resolution in support of the DPCW. Also, the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), which represents all citizens of 55 countries of the African Continent, the International Centre for Black Sea-Baltic Studies and Consensus Practices (Centre BBS), which consisted of former European Presidents, and 145 United Nations officials also supported the DPCW.
Please support the DPCW to be introduced into the U.N. resolution and to be legally binding all over the world.
It’s our Korea that put a gun to our fellow countrymen’s chest. You know the pain of war, don’t you? Why should we be divided under longstanding external and historical factors? It is the only divided country in the world. Who can pay back the lives of countless young men who died in the war?
Mr. President, I don’t want to die. I want to love, dream and sing. Your choice is very important now. Please sign the DPCW. If not, please let me know why. We can do it! Why not?
I don’t want you to be remembered as a president to future generations who wanted war. I hope you to be remembered as the president who took the lead over anyone else for peace. Pleas write back.
Thanks for reading my peace letter, President Moon Jae-in.
