Australia: DPCW 9th Anniversary Celebration 🌍✨

In March, HWPL marked the 9th anniversary of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) in Sydney and Victoria. Over 500 participants, including youth, educators, religious leaders, and lawmakers, joined the ceremonies 💡❤️. Cultural performances of music and dance opened the events, followed by speeches emphasizing that true peace requires interfaith cooperation.

The anniversary also highlighted the expansion of dialogue programs to strengthen mutual understanding and respect. Attendees shared that individual voices and actions play a key role in creating lasting peace, encouraging communities to engage actively in social cohesion 🌱💖.
Peace Education and Policy Initiatives in Victoria

In Victoria, HWPL signed an MOU with FHCA to advance peacebuilding initiatives, support services, and local policy discussions. The graduation of the Peace Education Trainer Program (PETE) highlighted efforts to equip youth as new peace educators, spreading the message of peace in schools and community spaces 💡❤️.

Participants also wrote peace letters to governments and international organizations, advocating for inclusive policies, anti-discrimination measures, and global solidarity. These initiatives strengthen grassroots engagement while encouraging ordinary citizens and youth to actively contribute to sustaining peace 🌱💖🌟.
HWPL International Peace Journalism Workshop 🌍✨

On July 19, HWPL held an online follow-up workshop on International Peace Journalism with 44 participants from 14 countries, including journalists, legal experts, youth leaders, educators, and religious figures. The workshop built on the April Global Media Forum, focusing on ethical reporting, peace promotion, and responsible journalism 💡❤️.
In the Middle East session, participants from Egypt, Palestine, Syria, and Jordan discussed media restrictions and misinformation. They stressed that social media should be used reflectively to support understanding and education 🌱💖.

During the Africa session, participants explored how media can both escalate and reduce ethnic and political conflicts. They highlighted the role of journalists in promoting unity, tolerance, and responsible reporting 🌟💡.
In the Oceania session, participants addressed challenges in multicultural communities and misinformation in migrant societies. They emphasized peace journalism as a tool for ethical reporting and constructive media use 🌱💖.
Ethiopia: HWPL Driving Peace and Youth Empowerment 🌍✨

HWPL is advancing its vision to make Ethiopia a hub for peace initiatives in Africa, aligning with the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The organization emphasizes youth empowerment and education, supporting AU goals like citizen-led development and youth participation. Programs such as DPCW-based “Legislate Peace” provide legal frameworks for conflict resolution, while the WARP Office promotes interfaith dialogue and youth-led IPYG activities enhance engagement 💡❤️.
HWPL is formalizing partnerships with Ethiopian public institutions, including the Civil Service University and Religious Council, to localize DPCW initiatives and establish Peace Expert Committees. Through focused activities in Oromia, including peace education and interfaith platforms, HWPL fosters sustainable peace locally and across Africa 🌱💖🌟, positioning Ethiopia as a model for institutionalized peace and interfaith cooperation 🎉✨.
Madagascar: Peace Library Project and Student Environmental Action 🌍✨

To celebrate the 9th anniversary of DPCW, HWPL Madagascar carried out community cleanup activities at six public elementary schools as part of the Peace Library Project from March 21 to April 12. The initiative aimed to teach students civic responsibility, cooperation, and solidarity while promoting environmental awareness 💡💖. Students engaged in teamwork exercises and lessons on patriotism, supported by HWPL, partner organizations, and volunteers 🌱🌟.
