At the HWPL World Peace Summit, Chairman Man Hee Lee delivered a keynote address emphasizing humanity’s duty to unite for lasting peace.

1. A Global Gathering for Peace 🌟

This year’s HWPL World Peace Summit, themed “Uniting for Peace and Fulfilling Humanity’s Duty Together,” will bring together presidents, prime ministers, assembly speakers, judges, ministers, and civic leaders. For two days, they will reflect on 11 years of peacebuilding and discuss how to strengthen future cooperation.

2. From Agreements to Action: The Legacy of the Summit 💡

The summit builds on a legacy that began in 2014, when world leaders signed agreements calling for international law to end wars and for unity among religions. These commitments led to the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) in 2016, which remains a cornerstone of HWPL’s peace efforts.

3. Expanding Global Support for the DPCW 🌱

In the past year, momentum for the DPCW has grown rapidly. Resolutions endorsing its principles have been adopted in:

  • United States: Cities of South Fulton, Fairburn, and Stonecrest; counties of DeKalb and Fulton.
  • Mongolia: Provinces of Bayan-Olgii, Khovd, Bulgan, and Orkhon.
  • Mali, Philippines, and Madagascar: Local governments officially endorsed the DPCW.
  • Latin America & the Caribbean: PARLATINO, representing 23 nations, passed a resolution recommending member states adopt the DPCW.

This growing list shows a global recognition of the DPCW as a foundation for sustainable peace.

4. Education, Dialogue, and Unification Efforts ❤️

Beyond legislation, HWPL has expanded peacebuilding through education and dialogue:

  • Peace Education: Timor-Leste is preparing to integrate HWPL’s peace curriculum into public schools, with about 70% of higher education institutions already cooperating.
  • Interfaith Dialogue: Scripture study platforms continue to grow, creating spaces for understanding and respect.
  • Korean Peninsula Unification: The “Together: Connecting Korea” campaign is strengthening collaboration with local governments for peaceful coexistence.

5. A Growing Global Family 🎉

HWPL’s membership rose from 500,000 to 700,000 in just one year, reflecting a shared commitment to the vision of Chairman Man Hee Lee: “We are not strangers to peace. We are the people involved, and we ourselves are peace. So let us lead this global community to a world of peace.”

The Chairman Man Hee Lee has shown steadfast leadership in guiding HWPL’s vision for peace. His dedication has turned dialogue into action, connecting leaders and citizens worldwide. Through his leadership, the message is clear: peace is humanity’s shared responsibility.

In addition to the main summit, local events will take place in 78 countries until October, involving more than 15,000 participants. These gatherings aim to strengthen grassroots networks and inspire more people to join the peace movement.

The 11th Anniversary of the HWPL World Peace Summit is not just a celebration of the past—it is a bold step forward. With leaders, educators, religious figures, and citizens uniting, the message is clear: peace is not an option, but a duty we must fulfill together.
