Ukraine & Seoul Youth Unite for Blood Donation 🌍❤️
On April 16, HWPL, Poltava National Medical University (PSMU), and University Unity organized a blood donation event in Poltava, Ukraine, with simultaneous participation from Seoul, South Korea. The campaign aimed to show solidarity and support while saving lives through a simple yet impactful act 💡✨.
Thirty students in Poltava donated blood for civilians and soldiers, while 30 HWPL youth volunteers in Seoul joined to demonstrate international cooperation and connectedness. Participants shared messages like “We are one!” and “We stand with Ukraine!” to convey unity 🌱💖.
Promoting Civic Responsibility and Peace Education 🌟💡
Beyond blood donation, the event emphasized civic responsibility, solidarity, and community engagement. PSMU has been collaborating with HWPL since 2023 to implement peace education, fostering youth’s nonviolent communication skills, resilience, and mental well-being 🌍✨.
HWPL representatives highlighted the campaign’s role in spreading a culture of volunteering, mutual aid, and youth-driven social responsibility. The initiative reinforces that simple acts, like donating blood, can promote life-saving practices and strengthen international solidarity 💡🌱.
Fiji Peace Plogging & Reflection: Health, Environment, and Community 🌍✨
On April 21, HWPL, IPYG, and local youth group ONOP hosted the “Peace Plogging & Reflection Program” at Lautoka Robu Beach, Fiji. The event aimed to promote youth-led peace, healthy habits, and environmental protection by combining community fitness and social engagement 💡.
The program featured the “Healthy Bounce Challenge,” a music-driven group exercise designed to boost physical health and social connection, while addressing non-communicable disease concerns like diabetes and hypertension. Participants of all ages joined, creating an energetic and inclusive atmosphere 🌟💖.
Beyond fitness, attendees engaged in 1:1 reflection sessions to share experiences in peace activities and community aspirations. The event also included coastal plogging and removal of stagnant water to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, providing practical solutions for dengue prevention and fostering civic responsibility ✨🌍.
Malaysia Youth Lead Beach Cleanup for Earth Day 🌍💖
On April 22, in celebration of Earth Day, HWPL Malaysia organized a beach cleanup at Pasir Panjang Beach. Youth volunteers collected plastic bottles, food wrappers, and other litter to protect the natural beauty and biodiversity of the area ✨.
HWPL Malaysia emphasized that maintaining clean beaches is a shared responsibility and hoped the activity would inspire young people to take greater interest in environmental protection. Local beach managers also highlighted the ongoing need for volunteer efforts to keep the coastline clean and sustainable 💡🌊.
Latin American Parliament Endorses DPCW for Global Peace ✍️🌎
On July 18, 2025, the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO) adopted a resolution supporting the DPCW, highlighting its potential as a foundation for international peace law. The resolution emphasizes prohibiting the use of force, promoting peaceful conflict resolution, protecting religious freedom and self-determination, and spreading a culture of peace through civic engagement, education, and interfaith cooperation.
