The Association of Social Activities Development Sri Lanka (ASAD) is a leading NGO officially registered in 1992 and 2001. With activities in 25 administrative divisions and over 14,000 village groups, ASAD promotes human rights, poverty reduction, and sustainable peace through its Human Rights and Peace Ambassador Organization (HROPA).

ASAD focuses on five main areas: human rights education and conflict resolution, poverty relief through clean water and housing projects, social welfare for orphans, the elderly, and disaster victims, sustainable farming and environment protection, and youth leadership programs with peace education. Working with UNDP, UNICEF, and international embassies, ASAD bridges Sri Lanka with the global community. Since 2016, ASAD has partnered with HWPL and IPYG, joining Peace Walks, the Legislate Peace (LP) Program, and the “Sri Lanka Saemaul Campaign.” Together, they empower youth and citizens to see peace not as a dream, but as a shared responsibility for the future.

On June 21, 2025, the Legislate Peace (LP) Program was officially launched in Colombo, Sri Lanka 🌍. Hosted at the National Library 📚, the event was organized by HWPL with IPYG, the National Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), and state broadcaster ITN. A total of 116 participants, including government officials, students, and civic leaders, gathered to support youth-led peace initiatives.

The LP Program focuses on building ethical leadership and civic awareness among young people 🌱. Its first rollout in Gampaha introduced structured education on peace, anti-corruption, and active citizenship. The launch also featured the founding of the IPYG Volunteer Club 🌟, which will lead community efforts such as environmental cleanups, integrity campaigns, and peace awareness events.

The Alliance Development Trust (ADT), an NGO founded in 2005 and officially registered with the Sri Lankan government, is a proud member of IPYG. ADT goes beyond humanitarian aid by focusing on disaster relief, health, livelihood support, child protection, and peacebuilding. It follows international standards such as the Sphere Standards and WANGO Code of Ethics, while promoting interfaith dialogue and youth-led peace initiatives.

On African Freedom Day, over 200 passionate young leaders gathered in Lusaka not just to celebrate the past—but to build a peaceful future together! 🎉✨
Hosted by HWPL and its youth wing IPYG Zambia, the conference became a powerful symbol of youth-driven peace. With support from the Lusaka City Council and seven youth-led organizations, this event wasn’t just a talk—it was a movement. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

This conference was also part of HWPL’s 12th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace, which connected over 10,000 participants in 94 cities across 61 countries. That’s not just global—it’s interconnected 🌐💪

Under the theme “Youth Make the Peace Flow,” Zambia launched the Youth Engagement & Peacebuilding Working Group (YEPW)! This is more than just a name—it’s a new nationwide network aimed at uniting youth for community-based peace activities like peace walks, cleanups, and workshops 🧼🌳🕊️
