A Global Gathering for Peace 🌟

HWPL will host the 11th Anniversary of the September 18th World Peace Summit on September 18–19, 2025 in South Korea. This year’s theme, “Uniting for Peace and Fulfilling Humanity’s Duty Together,” emphasizes collective responsibility.
More than 770 high-level leaders will attend, including presidents, prime ministers, assembly speakers, justices, and leaders from education, religion, and media. Together, they will reflect on achievements from the past year and discuss concrete steps forward.
Building on a Strong Foundation 💡

The summit continues the legacy of the 2014 inaugural World Peace Summit, where two key agreements were signed:
- A call for international law to end wars.
- The World Alliance of Religions Agreement, declaring that everyone should become a messenger of peace.
These milestones later inspired the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) in 2016 and programs like the Legislate Peace campaign and interfaith harmony initiatives.
Expanding Global Support for the DPCW 🌱

Over the past year, support for the DPCW has grown widely. Cities and provinces in the USA, Mongolia, Mali, the Philippines, and Madagascar have adopted resolutions. A major achievement came when the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO), representing 23 nations, officially endorsed the DPCW principles and urged member states to do the same.
Peace Education, Interfaith Dialogue, and Korea Campaign ❤️

HWPL’s interfaith scripture dialogues gained more public interest, creating deeper understanding among religions. At the same time, peace education advanced, with Timor-Leste moving to include HWPL’s curriculum in public schools. Nearly 70% of its higher education institutions are now on board.
The Together: Connecting Korea campaign also grew, working with local governments to encourage peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula.
Growing Membership and a Shared Mission 🌍

HWPL membership grew from 500,000 to 700,000 in the past year. This rise shows how many people are willing to stand together for peace.
At the 9th anniversary of the DPCW, HWPL’s Chairman Man Hee Lee reminded everyone:
“We are not strangers to peace. We are peace itself. Let us lead the world into peace.”

A Global Celebration Beyond Borders 🎉

While the main summit takes place in South Korea, regional events will be held in 78 countries until October. Over 15,000 participants are expected worldwide, strengthening local networks and bringing the vision of peace closer to communities everywhere.

✨ The 11th Anniversary of the HWPL World Peace Summit marks not only a milestone but also a renewed commitment to peace. With leaders, educators, and citizens working together, the path to a peaceful future becomes brighter each year.
