Youth is sick, right?
Always be drunk. That’s it! – Charles Baudelaire
A freshman often said “I don’t know what I want to do.” A sophomore said “The first grade is the time to play really hard.” A Senior in college said “Honestly I really don‘t know what to do.” And forget the whole thing while drinking. And they have a terrible hangover together. Comfort each other saying it’s a sick day of youth. Ordinary college students, it is.
And some ordinary college student devoted her life to prepare for a civil service exam. They must give up many things to prepare for the test. What? Date, marriage, childbirth, Owning a home and human relations. Futhermore, dream and hope. Obviously, a few people are the master of their fate. But the majority of people are suffering. It is the point.
Ordinary college : How to break through?
These days, I have also this concern. What can I do? How to break through? I can’t see in front of me at all. Your mind that don’t want to change is the greatest enemy for growing. “I could not do anything.” A feeling of helplessness.. We need the criteria that can hold our mind tightly. What can we do? We must solve this problem. Look for your answer!
Get Drunk
The great imperative!
In order not to feel Time’s horrid fardel
bruise your shoulders, grinding you into the earth,
Get drunk and stay that way.
On wine, poetry, virtue, whatever.
But get drunk.
on the porches of a palace, in the green grass of a ditch,
in the dismal loneliness of your own room,
your drunkenness gone or disappearing,
the star, the bird,
the clock,
ask everything that flees,
everything that groans or rolls or sings,
everything that speaks,
ask what time it is;
and the wind, the wave,
the star, the bird, the clock
will answer you:
Don’t be martyred slaves of Time,
Get drunk! Stay drunk!
On wine, virtue, poetry, whatever!”
