Let’s take a trip down memory lane to the 2015 HWPL World Peace Summit. This event was a game-changer in the world of peacebuilding and left a lasting impact on everyone involved. 🌐✨

What Went Down? 🤔

Back in 2015, leaders from various religions, nations, and organizations gathered in Seoul, South Korea, with one common goal: world peace. 🌏❤️ The summit was all about breaking down barriers and fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation. It was a melting pot of ideas, cultures, and beliefs, all coming together to promote peace.

A Symbol of Unity: The Bibimbap Experience 🍲🌍

At the 2015 Peace Festival, participants came together to create a giant bowl of bibimbap, a traditional Korean dish. This culinary activity wasn’t just about sharing a meal; it was a powerful symbol of peace. Each ingredient in bibimbap, from the vibrant vegetables to the savory meats, represents different cultures and communities.

When mixed together, they create a harmonious and delicious dish, much like how diverse groups can come together to create a peaceful world. This act of making bibimbap highlighted the beauty of unity in diversity and the importance of working together for a common goal. 🌍🥗✨

Key Highlights 🌟
  1. International Law for Peace 📜🕊️: One of the major outcomes of the summit was to enact a international law for cessation of war. This law aimed to provide a legal framework to end wars and promote peace globally. This has brought together many international law experts. It was a bold step towards making peace a tangible reality.
  2. Unity Among Religions 🙏🤝: Religious leaders from different faiths pledged to transcend their differences and work together for peace. This was a powerful moment, showing that despite our diverse beliefs, we can all unite for a common cause.
  3. Youth and Women in Action 👩‍🎓👩‍👧‍👦: The summit emphasized the role of youth and women in peacebuilding. Their voices were heard loud and clear, highlighting the importance of inclusive participation in creating a peaceful world.
Join the Movement! 🌈✊

The 2015 HWPL Peace Summit wasn’t just a one-time event; it sparked a movement. The discussions and agreements made during the summit laid the groundwork for ongoing peace initiatives.

Peace isn’t just a lofty ideal; it’s something we can all work towards in our daily lives. Whether it’s through community service, spreading awareness, or simply being kind to one another, every little action counts.

Let’s keep the spirit of the 2015 HWPL Peace Summit alive and strive for a world where peace is the norm, not the exception. And the 2024 HWPL 918 World Peace Summit is coming up. We can’t wait.😊😄

Feel free to share this post and spread the message of peace! 🌟🕊

Reflecting on a Decade of Peace Efforts

The international peace NGO, Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL), led by Chairman Man-hee Lee, first held the HWPL World Peace Summit in Seoul back in 2014. Over 1,000 leaders from political, religious, women, and youth sectors, along with journalists from about 140 countries, attended to discuss dispute resolution, religious harmony, and establishing legal mechanisms for sustainable peace. 🗣️📜

Chairman Lee’s powerful words still resonate: “So many young people were sacrificed due to war. But for whom? How long must this continue?” He emphasized that peace cannot be achieved just by talks and urged everyone to leave a legacy of peace for future generations. 🌟🕊️

This 10th-anniversary commemoration aims to review past peace projects, outline future plans, and build networks to establish peace strategies tailored to regional characteristics. I’m currently doing a HWPL review from scratch. It’s weird the more I look at it. It started in 2014, and 2015 is the one-year anniversary.

Does the scale make sense? If we say we’re starting something, the beginning is really hard. How much work has gone into making this peace festival happen?

Each of these shorts is super short!
I highly recommend watching each one. 🙂

2015 HWPL World Peace Summit

HWPL hosted the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit in 2015 with leaders in politics, religion, women’s groups, youth groups, and the media in attendance.

On 918 WARP Summit, 2015, discussions were held to draft international law for peace with international law experts from around the world.

Through this, HWPL launched the “International Law Peace Committee” composed of 19 international law experts from 15 countries.

Knowing what’s going on in 2016, I’m really excited!!!😮😮 I’m sure you’ll be surprised at what can happen in such a short time.

The Chairman of HWPL, Man Hee Lee, said “At the 2014 WARP Summit, we called heaven and earth as witnesses, and in the sight of God, all people of the world, and the Peace Advocate,

we pledged our commitment to the enactment of internationla law for the cessation of war and to the unity of religions.

With the definite solution for achieving peace, we have traveled all over the world and worked for peace. This unprecedented work will go down in history forever.”

Why do people love HWPL? 😘

  1. Commitment to Global Peace: HWPL is dedicated to achieving world peace and the cessation of war through various initiatives, including the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).
  2. Interfaith Harmony: HWPL promotes interfaith harmony to prevent conflicts between religions. By fostering dialogue and understanding among different faiths, they work towards reducing religious tensions and building a more harmonious global community.
  3. Community Engagement and Education: HWPL actively engages with communities worldwide through peace education, volunteer work, and campaigns. Their peace academies and educational programs aim to instill the values of peace in future generations, ensuring sustainable peace for the future.

Spreading Peace: The 1st Bangsamoro Peace Education Conference

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE Spreading Peace: The 1st Bangsamoro Peace Education Conference Southern Leyte Philippine Mindanao Peacebuilding PeaceEducation peace education textbook Bangsamoro Peace Education Conference

Launching Peace Education 📚✌️

In May, HWPL’s Philippine branch announced peace education textbooks for Southern Leyte, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, and Laguna Province. They aim to sign an agreement with the Philippine Department of Education to spread peace education nationwide.

Southern Leyte’s Pilot Classes 🏫✨

Southern Leyte’s Department of Education created localized HWPL peace education textbooks and held pilot classes. This was inspired by the peace textbooks for Bangsamoro, introduced at the Bangsamoro Peace Education Conference in January.

The 1st Bangsamoro Peace Education Conference 🎉📖

On January 29, the first Bangsamoro Peace Education Conference took place in Mindanao. Co-hosted by the Department of Education in Cotabato City and HWPL, the conference showcased peace education textbooks with Islamic values. They showed how these textbooks could be used from Grade 1 to Grade 12 through demo classes.

The Peace Education Conference was attended by a total of 668 participantsincluding five high-ranking government officials such as the Minister of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education of Bangsamoro, 50 principals of elementary, middle, and high schools under the Department of Education in Cotabato City, and approximately 613 faculty members.

Looking Ahead 🌟🚀

The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) will validate the textbook. Once approved, it will be distributed to about 4,000 schools, bringing peace education to around 1.26 million students in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

We hope this news will be of great help to you in your quest for peace. We are connected everywhere. Peace is possible, if we bring our minds together.

Why did people start walking on 25 May? Millions of people around the world walk on that day. It started in 2013.

The Declaration of World Peace, first proclaimed by HWPL Chairman Lee on May 25, 2013, called upon people to acknowledge the dire need for world peace. And Man Hee Lee defined the roles of heads of state, women, youth and the press in achieving peace.

Over 20,000 people from 130 countries gathered to march for peace at the Peace Gate of Seoul Olympic Park, South Korea. 525 peace walk has become a symbol of peace for both youth and women around the world.

That’s how we got to our 11th anniversary this year. People have been walking for over a decade now. On the HWPL homepage, there are pictures and descriptions of the event every year, and it’s touching to see them.

In keeping with the spirit of the Declaration of World Peace, that HWPL aims to achieve world peace through the heavenly culture and restore the global community with light, we are carrying out peace activities all across the world.

In 2013, HWPL’s work was defined, and the 2014 HWPL World Peace Summit brought political and religious leaders together in Seoul.

And they discussed the need for a new international law for peace. In 2015, an International Law Commission was created to further the discussion, and on 14 March 2016, Article 10, paragraph 38 of the DPCW was promulgated.

I would love the opportunity to explain DPCW in more detail.

Thoughts have a quality called inertia. If you think in a certain direction, you will eventually move in that direction, and eventually I, my friends, my neighbours, my city, and society will move in that direction.

I think it’s a force for good, and I think it’s a culture of peace. Article 10 of the DPCW is ‘Spreading a culture of peace’. Before I knew it, I was upholding DPCW international law! Suddenly I’m happy.

Peace leaders and religious leaders from all over the world gathered in Seoul for the first time in 2014.

It’s a YouTube shorts for less than a minute, so I recommend you watch it. I can feel the excitement wash over me.

In 2013, HWPL declared through the Declaration of World Peace that, to end wars and bring peace to the global community, a new international legal instrument was needed.

At the 2014 World Peace Summit, legal and political leaders from around the world signed an agreement with HWPL to work together on drafting such a document.

In just a year and a half, on 14 March 2016, the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) was proclaimed, and HWPL is actively committed to the introduction of the DPCW into international law.

Man hee Lee, the Chairman of HWPL, said “If you are a believer who truly desires for peace and loves this global community like his own body, religions must become one.
When religions become one, there will be no more war; and if there is no war, there will be peace.
Let’s all become one so we can make this global community into a world of peace.”

Man Hee Lee is a man who is showing the way to the path of peace. With a clear vision, many follow in his footsteps. With him and HWPL, peace will come soon enough.

4. States should promote a culture of peace, including ensuring conditions in which-
(a) citizens are able to participate in the political affairs of the State as equals, regardless of religious or ethnic differences;
(e) the wellbeing of all human kind, with the participation of women and men, to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst Nations, States, and peoples may be guaranteed.

I only took (a) and (e) from Article 10 of the DPCW. I admire IPYG Australia for continuing to practice international law, the DPCW, as the answer to peace.

Recently, I’ve been re-motivated about peace. I’ve also been thinking about writing a peace novel. Don’t you think it would be fun?

So we felt it was time to take a look back at what HWPL has been up to since 2014. I also found a YouTube channel called HWPL Peace Magazine. I will be reviewing them one by one.

HWPL hosted the HWPL 918 World Peace Summit (HWPL WARPsummit) in 2014 with leaders in politics, religion, women’s groups, youth groups and the media in attendance.

HWPL and leaders of various sectors convened to discuss conflict resolution, establishing peace, and mutual cooperation and signed landmark agreements on building and implementing solid systems for cooperation.

The agreements covered implementing legal instruments to ensure peace, building religious harmony and creating peace activites by state actors and citizens, respectively.

The legal instruments became the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) in 2016.

It’s so interesting to trace the past like this. It’s inspiring to see what they decided to do then, and how they realized it years later.

In fact, there’s a HWPL Press Conference that attracts a lot of reporters. The Chairman of HWPL, Man hee Lee, coolly answers the question. These days, reporters are increasingly curious, not aggressively snarky.

As I review each video, I hope you will feel the power of HWPL and become a messenger of peace.
