Come to the garden in spring
by Meviana Jalaluddin Rumi
Come to the garden in spring
There’s wine and sweethearts in the pomegranate blossoms.
If you do not come, these do not matter.
If you do come, these do not matter.
Dad
You’re always ther to lend a hand
To listen and to understand
It helps to know you’re by my side
Never judging, full of pride.
You’re ever-ready(never waver)
With a hug, a lift, a favour
a chat, a loan, a joke, a smile
You always go the extra mile.
You’re an oak, a rock, a beam
The centre forward of our team
A coach, a mentor and good sport
An inspiration and support.
So thank you Dad for all you do
And mostly, thanks for being you
MUM
You’re the comfort of a blanket
You’re the message on a phone
You’re the stamp on a letter
You’re the welcome feel of home
You’re the the safety of a seatbelt
You’re the answers to a test
You’re the blossom in the springtime
You’re the feathers in a nest
You’re the topping on a pizza
You’re the rhythm in a jive
You’re the caffeine in a coffee
You’re the queen bee in a hive
You’re the ticket to a movie
You’re the rays of the sun
You’re the thought behind a present
and… a VERY PRECIOUS MUM!
I’m Only a Cat
by Unknown
I’m only a cat,
and I stay in my place…
Up there on your chair,
on your bed or your face!
I’m only a cat,
and i don’t finick much.
I’m happy with cream
and anchovies and such!
I’m only a cat,
and we’ll get along fire…
As long as you know
I’m not yours…
you’re all mine!
The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost
Two Roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Spring breeze!
What’s your feeling? I feel a lot better today. What will happen today? I memorize a poem every week. Not only does it take years off you, it makes you look and feel good. Enjoy the rest of your day! Good luck!
