There are many recommendations for Korean web dramas such as best 5 and top 100, but I will recommend you to my taste. It’s very subjective. 🙂

Since there are different parts that you can sympathize with according to age, I sorted them out according to the age of the characters. If you are in your 20s, you can look back on memories of your teenage years and know the lives of office workers in advance.

You can watch it all for free on YouTube, and each episode is about 20 minutes (8-10 episodes per season), so you can watch it on your day off.

10s

A-TEEN (Season 1-2)

Season1 – EP.01

These days, there are no teenagers in Korea who don’t know this web drama. In particular, “Do Hana” was very popular. Everyone is into Do Hana syndrome, copying her movements and tastes.

Though it may be very different from foreign styles, it dealt with friendship and fresh love. Of course, there are many unrealistic things compared to Korean reality. Each episode is about 10 minutes.

20s

Love Playlist (Season 1-4)

Season1 – EP.01

It is the most popular for college students in their 20s. Would it be good or bad to love in the major? In the same university, same major, couples are called “Campus Couples(CC).” You may think that what others see is important, but in Korea, there are many saying that CC is not good.

This is because most relationships in their early 20s are bound to break up, and people around them who were originally friends are having a hard time. There could be strange rumors. You can’t understand it now, but if you watch web dramas, you can understand the situation. But anything is possible if you love enough! Each Episode is about 5 minutes.

Ending again (the Latest!)

It’s a story in her late 20s. There are two episodes in English now. In Korean, it has been up to the eighth episode. It’s the latest! As expected, it is gaining huge popularity. I watch it these days and it’s so much fun. The main female character is so pretty and lovely.

She broke up with boyfriend of eight years, but he succeeded and appeared before her again! But now next to her is a younger man who likes her.
Who will she choose? This is the key.

30s

XX (the Latest!)

Also, there are two episodes in English now. In Korean, there were 10 episodes and it was over. With ending again recently, I really enjoyed watching these two web drama. The main female character is a head bartender.

The story is about friendship cracks because of an ex-boyfriend and love between bartenders. I think “XX” means ‘ex’ and ‘XX chromosome.’ Also, maybe it sounds like a curse, as “야, 이 XX야.” I hope you enjoy it.

Flower Ever After (Season 1)
The Best Ending (Season 2)

Flower Ever After – EP.01
The Best Ending – EP.01

People in their 30s now think more about marriage than about love. Some people want to get married and live a stable life, while others hesitate to get married because of still unstable reality. The story is about four people who are thinking about marriage.

We looked at everything from teenagers to marriage.
Please love Korean web drama a lot. 🙂

They will become butterflies. The slogan of PyeongChang 2018 is “Passion. ‘Sam-Il-Jeol’ Independence Movement Day & 33 Korean Religious Leaders

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE 'Sam-Il-Jeol' Independence Movement Day & 33 Korean Religious Leaders

Today is the Sam-il-jeol Independence Movement Day(March 1) in South Korea. Do you have any independence day in your countries? In fact, when I just lived only in South Korea, I cant feel anything. I thought that of course everyone has Independence Day until now. But it’s not. I’m curious about what the difference is. It depends on who you are but Cultural differences maybe can exist. It is important to know what standards the majority of society has. HAHAHA I don’t mean to say this. Let me introduce Samiljeol. 🙂

History : Why did it happen?

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE 'Sam-Il-Jeol' Independence Movement Day & 33 Korean Religious Leaders On every March 1st, Korean streets filled with national flags. It commemorate a national independence movement in 1919. What happened in 1919? They suffered discrimination terribly during Japanese colonial rule. The rule of force, cultural obliteration, extortion of their land made life difficult. People from all walks of life suffered lot of damage for the past ten years. At this moment, Woodrow Wilson(28th President of the United States from 1913 to 1921) announced <Fourteen Points>. It contains spirit of ‘Principle of National Self-determination‘. It activate national independence movement.

Independence Movement Day : 33 Korean leaders

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE 'Sam-Il-Jeol' Independence Movement Day & 33 Korean Religious Leaders In 1919 Han Yong-un, one of the 33 Korean leaders, read the country’s Declaration of Independence at the Taehwagwan Restaurant in Seoul. 33 Korean leaders consisted of 16 to Christianity, 15 to Catholicism and 2 to Buddhism. What is surprising is that religious leaders initiate action. Corrupt religious leaders of course existed. But at times some religious leaders are really cool.

After March 1st Movement, result is rally 1,542, participants 2,023,089, deaths 7,509, wounded 15,961, those arrested 52,770, burned church 47 and private houses 715(from Japan). Even though this movement caused a lot of casualties by Japan’s brutal crackdown, this national movement showed the patriotism of our people both internally and externally.

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE 'Sam-Il-Jeol' Independence Movement Day & 33 Korean Religious Leaders How can I forget about Yoo Gwan-soon!!! Japanese military police tortured Yoo Gwan-soon, who died in prison in 1920 at 18. The scope of the torture was beyond our expectation. Maybe it is too painful… My heart was broken…

Lastly, Kim Gu’s quote is moving. We must need highly-developed culture. I want to write about this more.

The only thing that I desire in infinite quantity is the power of a highly-developed culture. This is because the power of culture both makes ourselves happy and gives happiness to others. – Kim Gu

South Korea, New Year’s Day : Generous & Colorful

Korean New year’s day

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE South Korea, New Year's Day : Generous & Colorful

Do you know Korean traditional holiday? In Korea, there are four traditional holidays: New Year’s Day, Hansik, Dano, and Chuseok. Funny thing is, the highest number of deliveries in Korea are made during New Year’s Day and Chuseok. Many people only see each other twice a year during the New Year’s day and Chuseok. I love this holiday because I don’t go to school for a long days!! It is most nearly five days. New Year’s Day is the end of January. Chuseok is the beginning of October.

New Year’s Day in the world

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE South Korea, New Year's Day : Generous & Colorful

The Chinese New Year is a 15-day holiday. It is also called Spring Festival. The redness are all over China. Why? Because red lantern is a symbol of good luck and fortune. Japan’s New Year’s Day is お正月. In Vietnam, Lunar New Year is widely known as Tet(Táşżt/節). The day before, everyone is busy to start cleaning the house in the morning. The house is full of energy. Songkran(สงกรานต์) festival is to celebrate Thailand’s New Year. It is like a Water Festival. The festival is full of vigor.

Traditional Festival foods

Funny thing is, People fret over the holidays about putting on the pounds after so many festive meals. It is very colorful. Of course, we will eat lots of delicious food! Picture is good than text.

I see you 🙂

No one ever expected that so many people came together. Everyone think “citizens are tired in candlelight rally that lasted for a long time.”  This is the sixth Candlelight vigils. But huge crowds pour into nationwide. Candlelight vigils is being held in 70 places of the country. 200,000 in Busan. 100,000 in Gwanju. 50,000 in Daejeon.

Even though so many people came together, Non-violent culture is still. Any one is not taken to the police. They march in 100 m front of Cheong Wa Dae. It is the shortest distance until now. This peaceful protest is unprecedented in world history.

Many amazing things happened. When one citizen suddenly collapsed,  police officers hand over hot packs. Wow.

Second, one citizen threw flowers for peace performance. Then, people say “Don’t hit by flowers” I was impressed.

And there were citizens to put flower stickers on police car.

Now in Korea candlelight protests were steadily being held. We can see many people. There were mothers dragging a stroller, families coming hand in hand, middle and high school students and Elder people who come with friends. It is strange enough to not come. You can tell how much hot the atmosphere is, is it right?

How many are there?

Really a large number of people gathered. But I don’t know well about politics. I want to emphasize the meaning in that many people gathered.

Mature Sense of Citizenship

But Candlelight Vigil is peaceful. Violent demonstration can occur but mature sense of citizenship stop it. There are citizens who pick up some trash and who cry out to protect police line.

Before the violence, they satirizes society. The whole town is in festive mood. Many musicians came out and performed together. Celebrities are making comments as well. Every kind of parody also are constantly made. Now new culture is being made. I’m looking forward to the future. 🙂

On October 25 every year, we mark South Korean Dokdo Day!!!

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE South Korean Dokdo Day : 2016-10-25 "Whose?"

Dokdo issue is always talkative.

Who is right? Why are this issue so controversial?

The reason of ‘Why is it Controversial’ is that Dokdo is worth as much. It is very clean water and It has natural gas floor. And 50 Koreans live there.

Who is right?

So who’s right is really important.  But How to use the media always affects people’s perception. But Recognition and Fact can be different.
