On April 17, Pope Francis shares his vision for Covid-19 aftermath in an exclusive meditation for Vida Nueva, the Spanish religious weekly, titled “Un plan para resucitar” which translates as “A plan to resurrect.”
What he said about the current situation is, “If there’s one thing we’ve been able to learn in all this time, it’s that no one is saved alone. Borders are falling, walls are crumbling and all fundamentalist discourses are dissolving before an almost imperceptible presence that shows the fragility of which we are made.”
The situation is worse than we thought. “The Great Lockdown is the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and far worse than the Global Financial Crisis [of 2008],” International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief Economist Gita Gopinath said on the 14th of April.
Is there any way to overcome this situation? In such a crisis situation, the ability of the state or company to deal with the crisis is revealed. In fact, we usually only think this way, but there’s actually one more. It’s each one of us.
Francis wrote that the only way to conquer the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is through “the antibodies of solidarity.” This antibody “will break all the fanaticism in which we had immersed ourselves and will allow us to feel ourselves to be the creators and protagonists of a common history and, thus, to respond jointly to so many ills that afflict millions of brothers around the world.”
Also he wrote, “If we act as one people, even in the face of the other epidemics that lie waiting for us, we can have a real impact.” I thought it was very similar to Man-hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, who always shouted “We Are One!” His influence is powerful.
I think people who change the world think the same. All that remains now seems to be for us to practice those words. We can be cool enough. 🙂
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestonedocument in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected and it has been translated into over 500 languages.
Article 1
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”
The UN Charter
WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED
to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
ro establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,
AND FOR THESE ENDS
to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours, and
to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and
ro ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and
to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples,
HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS
Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known as the United Nations.
What do you think?
Maybe you can think a lot. If you see many violations of human rights, you can think ‘Isn’t it just a piece of paper? Help me not to have false hope.’ It is enough to make the angels weep. But if you have been lived without any problems, you can think ‘Isn’t it too obvious? From the time I was born, it was a matter of course.’ It is a really difficult issue. I wonder if we can solve it. Let’s have some coffee and get our thoughts straight. It is not to find the answer. Live with the answer!

“Work for peace! We are living in a time of many wars and the call for peace must be shouted. Peace sometimes gives the impression of being quiet, but it is never quiet, peace is always proactive and dynamic.” – Top 10 secrets to happiness, Pope Francis

I actually can’t sing a song well. So, I don’t know how to relieve stress. Many things happened in the world. There is a cold wanton murder! The resentment festered in victim’s mind. Her family was really more painful. Because they can’t understand anything. That murderer said “I don’t know. Just I’m very angry.” There is a thought offender, not only a personal crime. Ideology and religion can make people to give their life for cause. I know that ‘thinking’ is really important. So I find ‘World Peace Quotes‘ to change the world.
Peace is not just calm : Do something
Though the sun is gone, I have a light. – Kurt Cobain
One must desire something to be alive. – Margaret Deland
You must be the change you want to see in the world. – Mahatma Gandhi
Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love. – Mother teresa
You need to keep moving : Solution!
“Peace involves work, it is not about staying calm and doing nothing. No! True peace means working so that everyone has a solution to the problems, to the needs, that they have in their land, in their homeland, in their family, in their society.’ – Pope Francis May 12, 2015
“We shall find peace. We shall hear angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds” – Anton Chekhov
