HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) is an international peace NGO, registered with the United Nations and is now Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
In 2017, about 1,000,000 People are walking for peace in 106 Cities in 41 Countries. Unlike most peace organizations, the results of each year are considered great. They are trying to bring a new international law to the United Nations soon.
I brought up to top five videos that I have seen so far. 🙂
1. Media Facade 2019
It’s an art…
2. IPYG Card Section Performance 2019
3. Card Section of 12,126 People 2018
They are all volunteers. Is it possible?
4. 2018 HWPL World Peace Summit
Parades are also tremendously attractive, and the speeches of former presidents are touching. I definitely recommend seeing it.
5. Media Facade 2017
I think HWPL has the answer to peace. The power of HWPL is best represented by the slogan “We are one!” There is nothing we can’t do if we’re one mind to solve everything.
But the world is now so confused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). There is no one at street, everyone stays at home. Even WHO declared novel coronavirus disease a pandemic. (more than 121,000 cases in 118 countries)
At times like this, if we try for quarantine in one mind without blaming anyone without discrimination, we will all survive. 🙂
P.S my heartfelt condolences to all the families who lost loved ones…
After starting school on Monday, I took four classes. COVID-19 has replaced all of them with online lectures. I took two courses in allergology and clinical immunology.
Today, I’m going to summarize a little bit about asthma.
These are the vlogs I sometimes watch. Something motivates me, and it makes me feel good. I hope it will be the same experience for you.
1. 갱이Gani (eng sub), SNU Medicine
She is really pretty. There is a saying as a joke. Pretty actors, like Seo Hyunjin, Lee Sungkyung, appear in “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim,” a popular Korean drama.
While watching the drama, I wondered if there would be anyone who can be a doctor with this look, but there really was… lol
2. Kharma Medic, King’s College London
It’s a video that has a visual beauty. He is a sensible artist.
3. Sebastian Pirie, Sydney University
He is funny and humorous. He also often gives useful information. 🙂
Don’t you hate too much? I like simplicity best! I will end it here!
I recently read a book about self-esteem, “Self-esteem Lesson, Korean Ver (자존감 수업 : 하루에 하나, 나를 사랑하게 되는 자존감 회복 훈련)” It is written in Korean only. It is a book that a psychiatrist (윤홍균, 정신건강의학과 의사) wrote for his daughters based on the knowledge he gained from his long experience.
In psychology, the term self-esteem is used to describe a person’s overall sense of self-worth or personal value. (Verywell Mind) In other words, it is an individual’s subjective evaluation of their own worth. Self-esteem encompasses beliefs about oneself as well as emotional states, such as triumph, despair, pride, and shame. (Wiki)
The reason I read this book is because my top priority these days is to get rid of low self-esteem and self-reproach. This is because I heard this from someone I respect recently. She also told me that I’m enough competent.
When I read the book, I found that self-esteem was really connected to many problems, such as marriage, dating, work life, relationships between friends, and myself. The point was that I didn’t love myself. It’s “self-distrust.” How about someone on your back, criticizing you all day and comparing you to others? You can’t even run away. It’s so terrible. 🙁
My core feelings are “sadness” and “inferiority.” I could explain my feelings clearly through this book. I have a huge desire to be recognized by others. So, I kept looking at other people, and I usually looked at people who were better than me. That’s why I felt inferior.
Comparing my shortcomings to others’ good points, I always lost. I had high expectations of myself, and I was often frustrated. This gave me disappointment and low self-esteem. If disappointment lasts long, it becomes sadness.
After that, when there was a mistake, I started to blame myself first. The premise of my thoughts was that I tried to protect myself by blaming myself for fear of being criticized by others. I also hated myself.
In fact, there were so many hard work. It was a day that was really difficult, teary, painful, compared, scolded, and felt I was insignificant. I was not recognized by those who I respect. I secretly got angry and cried a lot.
I think I actually needed comfort. It was necessary to say, ‘It’s okay, you can do it.’ But now I can understand and forgive. We all had a hard time then, and we’ve walked the hard way together. She had a situation, too. She had lived a life that was not appreciated by strict father, and that was why I was more severely scolded by her.
What do we want most from our lovers when we’re dating? I think it’s looking at me as I am. But I don’t really see myself that way. I will now cherish and love me a lot. “It’s okay, you can do it. You can do it!!” I will trust my own judgment, make my own choices and make decisions. I will believe in me and comfort me, even if my troubles come like waves again.
Rachel McAdams is so lovely… It gave me a fantasy about love. I don’t know how many times I cried in the scene where he spent time with my father. He tells us the secret of happiness at the end. I was impressed. 🙁
2. The Greatest Showman
The character of Hugh Jackman was really attractive. And the movie is the best with the OST and musical scenes. Considering the meaning of the movie, it’s the best movie ever. Especially, in the song “This Is Me,” they was ashamed of themselves, but now they become self-reliant. It means that they had grown up a lot. All the songs are so good.
3. Begin Again
This movie is also one of the best in OST. I have nothing to say. I love you!!
4. Dead Poets Society
Carpe diem! The most memorable scene is when he said “Boys, you must strive to find your own voice.” I’ve been into poetry since I saw this movie.
5. The Intern
Anne Hathaway is a successful young female CEO. She was so cool. And Robert De Niro’s classic charm of subsidizing her with wisdom made me fall for “classic.” I want to be a classic man, who is more valuable as he was used longer.
There are many recommendations for Korean web dramas such as best 5 and top 100, but I will recommend you to my taste. It’s very subjective. 🙂
Since there are different parts that you can sympathize with according to age, I sorted them out according to the age of the characters. If you are in your 20s, you can look back on memories of your teenage years and know the lives of office workers in advance.
You can watch it all for free on YouTube, and each episode is about 20 minutes (8-10 episodes per season), so you can watch it on your day off.
10s
A-TEEN (Season 1-2)
Season1 – EP.01
These days, there are no teenagers in Korea who don’t know this web drama. In particular, “Do Hana” was very popular. Everyone is into Do Hana syndrome, copying her movements and tastes.
Though it may be very different from foreign styles, it dealt with friendship and fresh love. Of course, there are many unrealistic things compared to Korean reality. Each episode is about 10 minutes.
A-TEEN Season 1 – EP.24 A-TEEN Season 2 – EP.20
20s
Love Playlist (Season 1-4)
Season1 – EP.01
It is the most popular for college students in their 20s. Would it be good or bad to love in the major? In the same university, same major, couples are called “Campus Couples(CC).” You may think that what others see is important, but in Korea, there are many saying that CC is not good.
This is because most relationships in their early 20s are bound to break up, and people around them who were originally friends are having a hard time. There could be strange rumors. You can’t understand it now, but if you watch web dramas, you can understand the situation. But anything is possible if you love enough! Each Episode is about 5 minutes.

Ending again (the Latest!)
It’s a story in her late 20s. There are two episodes in English now. In Korean, it has been up to the eighth episode. It’s the latest! As expected, it is gaining huge popularity. I watch it these days and it’s so much fun. The main female character is so pretty and lovely.
She broke up with boyfriend of eight years, but he succeeded and appeared before her again! But now next to her is a younger man who likes her. Who will she choose? This is the key.
30s
XX (the Latest!)
Also, there are two episodes in English now. In Korean, there were 10 episodes and it was over. With ending again recently, I really enjoyed watching these two web drama. The main female character is a head bartender.
The story is about friendship cracks because of an ex-boyfriend and love between bartenders. I think “XX” means ‘ex’ and ‘XX chromosome.’ Also, maybe it sounds like a curse, as “야, 이 XX야.” I hope you enjoy it.
Flower Ever After (Season 1) The Best Ending (Season 2)
Flower Ever After – EP.01
The Best Ending – EP.01
People in their 30s now think more about marriage than about love. Some people want to get married and live a stable life, while others hesitate to get married because of still unstable reality. The story is about four people who are thinking about marriage.
We looked at everything from teenagers to marriage. Please love Korean web drama a lot. 🙂
Red Cross pamphlet on March 1st Movement / Wikimedia Commons
Hi, today is March 1st. Today is the anniversary of “March 1st Movement” in my country. It is also called “Independence Movement Day in South Korea,” and “삼일절(Sam Il Jeol)”
The March 1 Movement started on March 1, 1919. Why this day? In the wake of rumors that King Gojong of the Korean Empire was poisoned, it rose up on March 1, 1919, the funeral day of King Gojong’s death.
There was another reason. After the World War I, “The Fourteen Points” of US President Woodrow Wilson became the basis at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. The President Wilson listed “self-determination” as an important objective for the postwar world. It set off a spark of hope.

The most famous performance at this time is the “Manse Demonstrations.” In Korean, 만세(Manse) means raising both hands high. Generally, do it three times with the Korean flag.
On this day, 500,000 people gathered at 탑골공원(Tapgol Park, formerly Pagoda Park) and shouted “Manse.” From this point on, March 1st Movements were held across the country for about three months. There were 1,214 manse demonstrations during the 60 days from March 1 to April 30. The total number of participants is estimated at 1.06 million.

Japan did not sit still, but violently suppressed it. Of them, 7,509 were killed and 47,000 were arrested. However, because it was a fairly successful independence movement, the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea was established in Shanghai in April 11, 1919.

But I don’t think it happened easily. There were 33 ethnic representatives who took the initiative. They consisted of 15 Catholics, 16 Christians and two Buddhists. (if you more info about them: my blog, wiki(ko), other) They read “The Declaration of Independence” at Taehwagwan, Insa-dong, Jongno District, Seoul. Soon after, some of them died, and they were imprisoned for about a year and a half or three years.

To celebrate this day, the national flag is hung at home. Flags are also hung on every street. But now South Korea is in an emergency because of COVID-19. There are over 3,000 confirmed cases. I hope the patients will recover quickly, and I want to send a message of support to the medical staff who are really struggling.
Since we are all the same people, I hope we don’t blame each other or split up over this incident. Because we were one in the independence movement.
Hi, I’m Ming Taylor. I am 26 years old and live in Sydney. I came from Korea to study abroad, and I’m a medical student.
But I didn’t write much about medicine. lol It’s not that I’m not interested at all, but I was a little lost because I had a shocking incident when I was 20. This is when I decide to become a real doctor, not just a doctor. I’ll tell you later.
Sydney Central Station
Then, I have a one question. What more do I know when I make a lover, and can I really say I know about him or her? It’s so difficult. keep thinking!
5 Keywords to explain me
My 11 Notes
International Organization
UN & Peace
Artistic Sense
Single Startup Company
1. “My 11 Notes”
: In a word, I’m currently writing my 11th notes with all the things that inspire me. It doesn’t matter. I write everything like books, people, YouTube videos, lectures, ideas that I find while taking a walk. It is the most precious treasure of my life.
I started keeping a diary when I was 19 years old. Korea is a country with a very high passion for education. Especially, I was on the top class of the students like the drama “Sky Castle,” which is about students competing fiercely to enter Korea’s top medical school. I had to study 15 hours a day from 13 to 19. What was needed most at this time was mental management. This is when I began to write down.
The most recent writings are “The Great Learning, The Doctrine of the Mean, Confucian Analects, The Works of Mencius,” and “The Story of Art” of Ernst Gombrich. There are still seven books borrowed from the library. 🙂
2. “International Organization”
: I intend to become a doctor and work for an international organization. I’m also planning to have a master’s degree in public health, which is a must, and I want to work in places like Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) or WHO. Why?
When I was young, I thought I could help many people as a doctor. However, while attending medical school in Korea at the age of 20, all of the fantasies were shattered. I got lost, I lived without a destination.
I’m sure there are many good doctors, but the doctors I met were busy spending money and obscene. My values were shocking. Since then, I think I’ve been looking for more and more. Among them, I was influenced a lot by Dr. Lee Guk-jong. He told us that we should leave Korea. Please search for more details. There is a sad story.
I don’t know what projects I’ll be in charge of at the international organization, but for now, I’ve set the direction like this.
3. “UN & Peace”
: I love the United Nations and the value of peace. It is not just about fighting with guns. I am saying the answer that can solve all the problems.
Being interested in international organizations, I naturally became curious about the situation in the world. There were so many problems in the world. I think the problems of slavery and human rights have been resolved to some extent. But there’s still a long way to go.
This can be seen from just a glance at history. Human history is closer to the history of war than to peace. In 1945, World War II was over. At this time, the United Nations was founded to maintain international peace and security. The more I know about the United Nations, the more I’ve fallen for its charm. Of course, there are many criticisms. I was impressed with the purpose and meaning.
Especially, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 are so lovely. It is a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. Among them, the most fundamental thing I think is “peace.”
So, my favorite quote is “There is no path to peace. Peace is the path” by Mahatma Gandhi.
4. “Artistic Sense”
: I have a good sense of design, video production, script writing, and music. I’m not just an expert, but I know how it feels. Since I’m not a genius, I try to develop my senses. I often surf the “Behance” or “Pinterest,” a paradise for artists. I am interested in many things because I have to see and hear many things deeply.
I like Netflix, movies, dramas, and pop music. Recently, my favorite person is “Billie Eilish,” a american singer-songwriter. Her voice and dance are so attractive. I’ll bring the first video I fell in love with.
I already became her fan in 00:35 of this video. ahahaa yeahhh I think each of these will help me a lot when I do a project later or when I plan a campaign, so I am trying hard now. Ah, I also like emotional cafes.
5. “Single Startup Company”
: It has two meanings. The first thing I mean is to run a non-profit startup after I become a doctor. The second means that I will be the CEO of my life and run myself.
I’d like to get a bunch of talented people together and do something big. Something that will surprise the world. To do that, I think I need to live my own life first. Not just talking and useless knowledge learned at school, I really needs real ability. I’m also trying to take a lecture at MOOC like Coursera, edX and MIT OCW.
There are so many things to learn and do in the world! I hope to be the main character of this rapidly changing era. 🙂
I think I introduced myself too long. Well… it’s over anyway! Bye~
Compared with many African countries, Ethiopia is remarkably safe – most of the time. Serious or violent crime is rare; against travellers it’s extremely rare. Outside the capital, the risk of petty crime drops still further. The new Prime Minister was Abiy Ahmed, 2019 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, who made a historic visit to Eritrea in 2018, ending the state of conflict between the countries.
Ethiopia is a melting pot country, enriched in diverse cultures, peoples, and religions. However, such diversity sparked many conflicts in history, some of which are ongoing. These conflicts have stripped the country and people apart emotionally, and the Ethiopian government is actively working to peacefully resolve them for the better future of the country.
HWPL Peace Education in Ethiopia
In December, the professors and students at Kotebe Metropolitan University participated at the ‘Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) Peace Education’ sessions which are also joined by 214 schools in 36 countries.
To bring the peaceful reconciliation in the country, the Ministry of Education in Ethiopia and 9 other states had previously signed MOA with HWPL to implement HWPL’s Peace Education. The curriculum is designed to empower citizens to properly recognize the value of peace and take the pioneering role of spreading the culture of peace.
After signing MOA with HWPL, the Ministry of Higher Education in Ethiopia is currently reviewing the ‘HWPL Peace Education’ to incorporate and implement it as formal curriculum in all the universities. Addis Ababa School of Science and Technology (AASTU) also held the peace education sessions right after the Kotebe Metropolitan University.
A student who participated at the peace education said, “I learned why peace education is important for resolving conflicts in Ethiopia. It taught me to act as a messenger of peace. It is also important to present 10 Articles and 38 Clauses of the DPCW to the UN to fundamentally eradicate war and conflicts. To this end, we must continue to participate in peace education.”
Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita recently said that his government was ready to hold talks with the main jihadist leaders in the country. (VoA)
“Why not try to contact those who we know are pulling the strings,” Keita told French media last week. “The number of deaths in the Sahel is becoming exponential. It’s time for certain avenues to be explored.”
The United Nations reported that the number of children killed in the conflict in the first six months of 2019 was twice as many for the entire year of 2018. Many of the children have been killed in inter communal attacks attributed to ethnic militias, with the majority of attacks occurring around Mopti.
A day ago, at least three Mali soldiers were killed and five wounded Sunday in a suspected jihadist attack. Also, other recent conflicts in West Africa caused several casualties.
Since this is a place where people know the importance of peace, there are also many people who seek the path to peace.
Mali Parliament in West Africa Unites for Peace
At the Mali parliament, 25 congressmen and 4 national executive officials gathered for the proclamation ceremony for the ‘Network of Parliamentarians for the Culture of Peace and the Cessation of Wars’. This meeting, held on December 21, 2019, was held to discuss spreading the culture of peace, eliminating unnecessary sacrifices caused by internal conflict and terrorism in Mali.
Aurora Celestin, the representative of HWPL France Branch, introduced the Global Declaration of Peace and Cessation of war (DPCW) as a solution to Mali’s existing conflict and poverty. As a result, the congressmen stressed that “DPCW is a legal document that is much needed in Mali” and that “the president, senior government officials and other congressmen will actively implement the contents of the DPCW in their country.”
Especially, Diarra Moussa, a member of the Parliament and the Presider of the meeting said, “Many are working for peace in Mali and there are many laws. However, implementation of the law had always been the problem. Therefore, there needs to be a solution like the DPCW to spread the culture of peace where people start to abide by the laws.”
Kane Babba Hama Sidy, a member of the Mali Parliament, who signed the DPCW Support Letter said, “It is the right time to establish this network, bearing in mind the current situation of Mali. It is time to work for peace,” emphasizing the act of spreading the culture of peace through DPCW.
