Collaboration for Peace Development: Building a Peace Community through the DPCW
‘The past does not need to be the future. A new world can begin today. It is the last chance for the peace of humanity.’ These sentences come from promotional video of ‘2018 HWPL World Peace Summit: 4th Anniversary of the WARP Summit.’ This video shows very well what kind of mindset when they are dealing with world peace. They think that achieving peace is ‘Out Duty that we have to do’ of our time at any cost. Can you feel their determination? Thousands of leaders and citizens from around the globe will gather for 3 days in Republic of Korea with the great determination of creating a peaceful world together. I will tell you their HWPL peace quotes with Man Hee Lee.
HWPL Peace Quotes #9
H.E. Zlatko Lagumdzija, Former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina
“But we should always have in mind that war and atrocities, crime and genocide are not committed by the ordinary soldier who was pulling the trigger, but by the evil minds and leaders who are misusing their followers for their own personal criminal gain or vanity.
Also, that justice and rule of law are the best conflict prevention mechanisms. Peace is justice in action.”
HWPL Peace Quotes #10
Emil Constantinescu, Former President of Romania
“We are together again for discussing how we can implement the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War. Any meeting in South Korea, a country that bears the suffering of a people divided into two states due to an aggressive atheist ideology, has a special significance for our world, that is torn by so many ideological, ecumenical, social and, not least, religious divisions.”
In 2018 HWPL World Peace WARP Summit, Mr. Man Hee Lee said strongly “Now is the time for the leaders of the two Koreas to join hands and declare peace. Also, it is a critical time for the global community to return to its original state, which is a world of peace.”
He then continued, “In order for Korea to become a nation of peace and for the world to move towards world peace, we need a legally binding instrument (DPCW) that will end war at its source,” calling for everyone to work together to bring peace on the Korean Peninsula and end war around the world as soon as possible.
Do you know why people say ‘Mr.Man Hee Lee is a messenger of peace’? Because he has the definite answer to peace. He is a Korean War veteran, knows the horrors of war than a person ever knew. In his biography, “I struggled to survive. The sounds of guns, cannons, jets, and bombs did not stop for one second. The heavens, the earth, and my heart trembled, and the sky was filled with smoke.” So the Chairman Lee is running really hard for Peace on the Korean Peninsula. Also, he is the chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL). HWPL is an international peace nonprofit organization registered with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). I will tell you the coolest Man Hee Lee Quotes.
“When the light of heaven shines in the hearts of people, it becomes the light that never fades away.” – the Chairman Man hee Lee

Man Hee Lee Quotes
Chairman Lee, a Korean War veteran, shared his sorrowful experiences of war and encouraged the youth participants. “If I am to say the purpose of the foundation of HWPL, I would say it was founded for the youthof the world. I constantly think of the scenes during the war that took place a long time ago and I thought and still question are we really going to hand down this world that is oppressed and full of injustice to our future generations? No. We must create the world where there is no more tears and sighs. Who can do that job? It’s you, the youth who have the power and knowledge to protect yourselves by joining IPYG’s peace activities. I believe that all youth can become one together for peace. We are one!”
Things not all that rosy in Zimbabwe. On 18 June 2017, in Ward 23, Chitungwiza Zanu PF youths allegedly assaulted MDC-T youths. The MDC-T youths were meeting at the home of Chitungwiza Deputy Organising Secretary of the Women’s Assembly, Anna Mutara when they were attacked. Tension is brewing, as it was in the past.
From 12 December 1979 to 17 April 1980, Zimbabwe Rhodesia was again the British colony of Southern Rhodesia. The Rhodesian Bush War—also known as the Second Chimurenga or the Zimbabwe War of Liberation—was a civil war that took place from July 1964 to December 1979 in the unrecognised country of Rhodesia.
On 18 April 1980, Southern Rhodesia became the independent Republic of Zimbabwe. Conflict today remains rooted in disputes over national power, economic hardship and pre-colonial disputes which have not been resolved. How does Zimbabwe, with its sad memory, maintain its peace?
Zimbabwe Peace Project
They know the value of peace more than anyone else. So, Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) was established in 2000 by a group of non-governmental and church organisations. Since inception, ZPP has produced timely national monthly monitoring reports on violence and human rights violations. The VISION of ZPP is that ‘A Zimbabwe where there is Peace, Justice, Dignity and Development for all.’ Other peace organizations are the ‘African Union‘, ‘Silveria Hourse‘ and ‘Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe (CCJPZ).’ However someone is using war for their own benefit, there are many people who are trying to make peace.

Peace is not only the absence of war; and peace could also be defined as the state of the mind
The Calls of the citizens
While President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently told the United Nations General Assembly, that he was ready to engage the opposition, for possible working together; on the ground, nothing seems to be happening. Apparently, opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa recently told a media briefing that prioritising nation and peace building is the prime ingredient for national prosperity. But critics say that their speeches were just words and the leaders have no real will. Zimbabweans are stressed, and things are not working out, most citizens have been calling on the national leaders to find the Answer to Peace.
While, the calls are worthwhile, the media has been urged to play key role. A prominent political commentator, Elder Mabhunu agrees, says “The media should play one of its legislative mandate, that is agenda setting, in promoting unity and peace, the key element in nation building and sustainable development.” He says the press should lead the pack in causing a paradigm shift towards national development through reporting on peace initiatives. He continued, “Gone are the days when only conflict reporting was deemed to be real news. Peace news reporting should now take lead.”
“We must always remember the great power that the media has to promote war,
just as it has to promote peace. Today’s wars no longer occur in isolation within a state. Whether it’s terrorism or a refugee crisis it is truly a global problem, and for this reason the solution must also be global.”
Peace Initiative International Peace Media Community
According to the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), HWPL chairpersonMan Hee Lee recently challenged journalists who are the custodians of information as peace messengers. He said the press should use the power of influence it has, to shape leaders’ perceptions. “If journalists dedicate themselves to peace building efforts, the thought of people especially politicians will change.” I think it is the Answer to Peace.
“Peace Initiative” is a global journalist network in efforts of facilitating a culture of peace as contribution to conflict resolution and peace building through press freedom and freedom of information stipulated in the UN resolutions and international agreements. Individual journalists and media agencies affiliated with “Peace Initiative” dedicate to spreading news of peace to enhance human rights and protect democracy.
Lastly Mr. Ian Seo, Affiliation Chief Manager of the International Press Department of HWPL HQ, emphasized, “The ultimate goal of the DPCW is to create a firm foundation of law that binds every citizen and nation together, which has never existed on this planet until now.”
He then continued, “This kind of use of force makes it more difficult to resolve conflicts and establish peace and security in that region. Therefore, we need a strong legal instrument such as Article 1 of the DPCW. I fully agree with the principles of this declaration, since there is no alternative to peace negotiations. We can approach the resolution of such complex problems step by step through a legal instrument based on the principles of the DPCW.”
He also gave his heartfelt support for the initiative, stating, “In this context, I am glad that HWPL and journalists from different countries considered the need to create a “Global Peace Media Network” in order to not only inform the public about the existence of conflicts, but also to outline ways to resolve them.”
He explained “There has only been one same answer from Chairman Lee regarding all the conflicts around the globe. It is a person with the spirit of peace. The United Nations, the DPCW, international cooperation, and the participation of civil society are all necessary, but it is the people who are at the center of these instruments. We have come to realize that the collective strength of each person’s will creates the era of peace, and that the spirit of peace we want to achieve is the driving force to make our world one under the title of peace. Many journalists came to say that it is their mission to make a world of peace by developing this spirit through spreading the message of peace to the world. The very result after a series of consultations is the “Peace Initiative” as you can see right now.”
He also explained, “‘Peace Initiative’ is a platform for journalists from different countries to spread the news of peace throughout the world. As a teaching material to understand peace, as a seed to be planted in every part of the world, your will and desire for peace is the very result of what we can and must do for our present and future generations.”

HWPL Peace Quotes #5
Mr.Pravin H. Parekh, President of the Confederation of Indian Bar and HWPL International Law Peace Committee Chairperson
“Today one country saying ‘yes, Chairman Lee I accept your declaration’ is not enough, even 10 countries saying this is not good enough. Therefore, we need the United Nations. In fact, the United Nations came out in 1948 from the Human Rights Declaration and that is a very good document but things have changed from 1948 until now and, therefore, it is necessary that the United Nations adopts the Declaration made by us…so that when the United Nations accepts it, it becomes binding to all the countries in the world.
That is the effort Chairman Lee had been doing and we should all support Chairman Lee in ensuring that this becomes a United Nations document.”
HWPL Peace Quotes #6
H.E. Gennady Burbulis, Former State Secretary of Russia and President of Baltic-Black Sea Forum
“The MOU and MOA express our intention to work together in this important issue. Sometimes we can think that this problem or question of promoting peace is difficult or sometimes we can think that is very utopian, but we shouldn’t forget that there are many international or law organizations that unfortunately today, even the UN, do not function according to the purpose for which it was established. So that brings the threats to all humanity…. We cannot ignore these facts. So, in our work together we should take into consideration this reality. With all of that, we eagerly support the DPCW and we really believe that it is a very important declaration.”
HWPL Peace Quotes #7
Hon. Emil Constantinescu, Former President of Romania
“I lived under a communist dictatorship that deprived the country and its citizens of freedom for 50 years. People were not allowed to move about freely and the political police monitored their private affairs, invading the privacy of all citizens. Both Romania and Korea were greatly influenced by World War II. This war caused the death of more than 25 million soldiers and over 73 million civilians, as well as created huge economic losses and led to the destruction of many world cultural heritage sites. The atrocities of the two wars in the first half of the 21st century proved to be insufficient for leaders to understand that peace cannot be strengthened only by managing frozen conflicts,” explaining the darkest times of Romania.
He then continued by reminding all in attendance of the power of the people who fought for freedom stating, “The incredible lack of fear and the solidarity of people forced the dictator to flee and freedom was gained. In one of history’s bright moments, people were willing to sacrifice themselves for the ideals of freedom and democracy. The answer regarding the future of freedom and democracy is the choice of each generation and, in the end, of each of us.”
He concluded the lecture by proclaiming, “In order to achieve the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula, leaders, politicians and even the youth must have the consciousness to achieve peace.”
Man Hee Lee Quotes #8
Mr. Man Hee Lee, HWPL Chairman
“Korea should be unified and this work needs your help. Now the leaders of the two Koreas have shaken hands for peace. We have to figure out how to proceed with this and move forward. I think the leaders should hear your excellent presentations and statements from today. I will never forget your suggestions and the efforts that you have shown, and I will make sure everyone sees and hears your messages of peace,” promising to continue to make such achievements in the future.

HWPL Peace Quotes #1
Hon. Emil Constantinescu, Former President of Romania
“The event which is taking place today at this stadium is mainly addressed to the youth, who do not want to be forced by their countries’ leaders to fight against each other, and the women who would like to protect, not only themselves, despite being innocent victims, but to protect also their husbands, children and brothers from the horrors that any war inevitably brings about. Youth and women can become the most persuasive advisories of peace in the present and in the future.
Both avoiding war and establishing peacebuilding processes require a laborious effort to create a culture of solidarity outlining a pragmatic style in which the statements should followed by effective actions. The fact that so many distinguished representatives of the world’s public opinion, religious leaders, politicians, diplomats and cultural personalities, are today gathered represents such an efficient action.
Differently from 4 years ago we now have more people, are more united, and are more determined to stop the wars wherever they are. I believe that the Declaration of World Peace proclaimed in Seoul can get everyone around the world, no matter if they are men, women, youth or children, ready to unite under the mantle of peace and take the responsibility to promote the message of peace to the entire world. We are one.”
HWPL Peace Quotes #2
H.E. Viktor Yushchhenko, Former President of Ukraine
“I am deeply grateful to be able to implement the cause of peace in a specific way. This is truly a worthy cause. I was deeply impressed to see the DPCW with its refined and profound wisdom. I think it is worth the support from all leaders of the world. This is because the DPCW is a perfectly balanced document that was drafted through the great effort of international legal experts and is of fundamental value.”
HWPL Peace Quotes #3
H.E. Ivo Josipović, Former President of Croatia
“Our goal of peace is high and not an easy task. There are still people who use war as a political tool, and for some people peace is just an ideal concept. But I believe that peace and those who are for peace will be true winners in the next generation. It is important to remember the September 18th Peace Festival held in 45 cities around the world, against the threat of nuclear weapons. As the result of the third round of the Inter-Korean Summit, in the battle of darkness and light, we can expect more for the unification of the Korean Peninsula.”
Man Hee Lee Quotes #4
Mr. Man Hee Lee, HWPL Chairman
“I am sincerely grateful to the members of the HWPL Advisory Council (all the distinguished guests), the International Law Peace Committee, the HWPL publicity ambassadors, and the press. Their unwavering support and efforts have made known HWPL’s Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) all around the world to the point that everyone has heard of it.
We, the peace messengers of HWPL, have also carried out the peace work relentlessly across the globe and promoted the DPCW.
I have noticed that no one in this world wanted war, but everyone wanted peace. Hence, I am certain that peace will be achieved.”

The Role of the Youth in Spreading a Culture of Peace for the Realization of World Peace
Peaceful unification on the Korean Peninsula
The IPYGis one of the two wings of HWPL and they are working with the Youth for world peace. With 851 organizations from 111 countries around the world, peace is being realized. (as of October 2017) How much faster do they run? They participated in more than 200 activities and events in 44 countries for peace. How long? ‘Just in this year!’ They show a great power. The reasons for that are eager for peace and youth. In particular, IPYG hosted the Peace Walk, which has been an annual event since 2013. They created a movement to promote the true culture of peace. It is based on Article 10 ‘Spreading a Culture of Peace‘ of the DPCW.
“For World Peace to become a reality, this is the duty of all youth, everywhere.”
IPYG speaks of peace in an era of war and conflict
It was founded in accordance with the spirit of the HWPL. Do you know why HWPL can achieve PEACE? The Definite Answer to Peace is the DPCW and IPYG & IWPG. Then, what is the Role of the Youth? Owners of the future! They protect their future and leave sustainable peace as a legacy for future generations. I think it is very important to nurture the youth becoming peace leaders with a sense of ownership in regard to the future.
“WE YOUTHS, SHARE the love given from above. GATHERas one. PRODUCE works of true peace.”
Urge DPCW : IPYG We Are One!!!
So what do we do for peace? We’re working to bring the DPCW to the United Nations. And it needs the support of presidents in each country to be passed. So you can ask “What can I do?.” I’m going to give you a strong statement. Each country is made up of citizens and the president must listen to them. I really want to ask you. If you acknowledge that this is indeed the answer to peace, please be sure to support and urge your President to pass the DPCW to the United Nations. Then, this DPCW could be established as a real international law, which is the answer to peace. Therefore, your country and you will be remembered around the world as the leading country to support the law of peace for the first time.
What is the Role of the Youth?
IPYG Peace Letter Campaign
The representative of IPYG said “So I ask you again, but please urge your presidents to support this DPCW. Please write letters to presidents, promote it online & media and support the DPCW! And I hope that you will encourage not only your country, but also the presidents of the rest of the world through the Internet and the media.” It is aligned with the will of the Chairman Man hee Lee of HWPL that “That is why we need to urge all of our presidents. We need to urge them for the world to become peaceful sooner. This isour duty. And, this is what we have to do.”.

“Someone asked me. A young South African man said, ‘I want to convey my
opinion to the President of South Africa. But I don’t think the president will
listen to me.’ So I answered. And I’m going to tell you this because it applies
to us. ‘One person and One voice is weak. But if we come together, we are
stronger than anyone.’ Please remember. You’re not alone. We are one. I’ll shout before finishing. We Are One!!! Thank you very much.” – IPYG

Adoption of the DPCW as a UN resolution
What is the key point of this WARP Summit? As solutions for achieving global peace, HWPL focuses on the following:
Law for Peace Implementation of the DPCW in the form of a UN resolution to fundamentally prevent armed conflicts and establish an order of permanent peace
Alliance of Religions Harmony among religions, which lead the world and deal with spiritual matters
Peace Education Peace education to build the character expected of global citizens
Everyone is important, but I think the most important point at this time is the Adoption of the DPCW as UN resolution. To achieve this goal, around 1,000 experts in various fields from around the world are discussing now the role of the HWPL Peace Advisory Council in turning the DPCW into legally binding form & national and regional support for the adoption of the DPCW as a UN resolution.
Specially, I want to thank the HWPL International Law Peace Committee and the HWPL Peace Advisory Council for their dedication. They took the leading roles in the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) which was proclaimed on the 14th of March 2016. The DPCW has been verified as the definite answer to peace.
Political leaders, including former and current heads of state, ministers, national assembly speakers and Supreme Court justices, together with HWPL are currently making practical efforts. I am really grateful to these people. They are trying wholeheartedly towards the enactment of an international law for peace through the introduction of the DPCW to the UN. At this year’s international law session, high-ranking officials and the HWPL international law advisory committee will create concrete measures to advance the process of the realization of the implementation of an international law for peace.
Legislate Peace Campaign “Now 630 events 176 countries 1 million participants”
Don’t you know what the DPCW is? The DPCW is a legal document that was drafted by HWPL and proclaimed on 14 March 2016, purposing to create a legally binding instrument for the cessation of war and establishment of peace. It is composed of 10 articles and 38 clauses, and offers universal values and principles such as peaceful conflict resolution, promotion of friendly relations between states, freedom of religion, and the spreading of a culture of peace, for the advancement of peace in both nations and civil society. Adoption of the DPCW in International Organizations
The Central American Parliament(Diputados del Parlamento Centroamericano, PARLACEN), with 6 member-states, has now completed the official process of approval for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) after a year of discussion in the Commission of Peace, Public Security and Human Rights. It is an amazing achievement! Hon. Deputy Paula Lorena Rodriguez Lima, current Representative of Guatemala in PARLACEN, took the leading rold in this adoption. The most amazing thing is that she talked every single one of 120 congressmen and women to persuade the value of DPCW.
The resolution includes the following,
“It is intended that the Central American Parliament raise the flag of peace among the entire international community, taking this message to all governments, international organizations, civil society, political parties and others.
Based on what was considered above and the legal basis invoked, the Commission of Peace, Public Security and Human Rights issues favorable report with amendments to the initiative AP / 1278-278 / 2016 the “DECLARATION OF PEACE AND CESSATION OF WAR”.
In the DPCW promoted by HWPL on March 14, 2016, the respect of human rights and international law is fundamentally promoted, especially the role of the states in relation to the promotion of Peace, Justice and Freedom.”
At the 29th HWPL World Peace Tour, HWPL came to attend ‘the 2018 African Leaders of Peace Summit’ & ‘2018 Addis Ababa Summit‘ and achieved a lot. When the chairman Man hee Lee visited the Pan African Parliament (PAP), the representative of PAP signed the MOUwith HWPL. And He also supported the DPCW on behalf of the pan-African Parliament (PAP). This means that every country in Africa will support the DPCW. Also, two countries (eSwatini and Seychelles) send documents that they would support the DPCW on a national level. I don’t know how much you recognize it, but it’s a huge result!!! And what I’d like to focus on the most is that the Chairman Man hee Lee declared, in 2013, ‘we created an international law and the presidents should sign here. And then, the war will be eliminated all over the world’. It really comes true.
The representative of IPYG cried out strongly
“So I ask you again, but please urge your presidents to support this DPCW.
Please write letters to presidents, promote it online & media and support the DPCW!
And I hope that you will encourage not only your country, but also the presidents of Africa and the rest of the world through the Internet and the media.”
What can we do for the DPCW?
Our Mission : IPYG Peace Letter Campaign
The Chairman Man hee Lee of HWPL said “we need to urge all of our presidents. We need to urge them for the world to become peaceful sooner.” As part of it, The IPYGpeace lettercampaign is driven by the youth to urge all of our presidents. The ‘IPYG peace letter campaign‘ is driven by the youth to urge all of our presidents. With 851 organizations from 111 countries around the world, all youth of IPYG is running for peace. International youths are now urging their international leaders to support peace in the same manner as the resolution and calling for the role of young adults to be enhanced in advancing peace. Over the period of 2 days, 20,006 letters were written and collected, currently summing up to a total of 66,900 peace letters.
What can we do for peace? I ask you again, but please urge your presidents to support this DPCW. Please write letters to presidents, promote it online & media and support the DPCW! Therefore, you will be remembered eternally around the world as heroes of peace who achieve peace for the first time.
The Chairman Man hee Lee shouted “All mankind desires peace, nobody has
wanted war. So, if we become one, we will be able to achieve peace. HWPL exists
for the youth. I hope all youth will join in the peace activities of IPYG and leave
peace as a legacy for our future generations.”
“The Right to Peace – The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70”
The International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21st September. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where the 73rd session will open on 18 September 2018, has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace.
This day is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” which calls for promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.
The Theme of 2018 is to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The UDHR is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by legal experts, the Declaration was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948.
The Universal Declaration states in Article 3. “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.” These elements build the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world. Yet, the Universal Declaration does not include a separate article on “Right to Peace”. This is why we ask you this year: What does “The Right to Peace” mean to you? Share your ideas with us through #peaceday and #standup4humanright.
So far, international law has not ended the war. So many people had to suffer and be sad because there was no peace. They should not suffer any more. They have the ‘Right to Peace’!!! So HWPL is creating a new order for the world.
In order to fundamentally resolve international conflicts and crises, The HWPL international law peace committeewas founded to discuss ways to achieve peace through international law. It is composed of prominent legal experts of different nationalities. After three formal committee meetings, the DPCW was drafted. On March 14, 2016, 10 articles and 38 clauses of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) was declared. Currently, there is a worldwide campaign to introduce the DPCW to the United Nations. Now, they collected 734,055 signatures (as of October, 2017) and 173,170 people of 176 countries participated.
People around the world want the DPCW to be adopted by UN. The new international peace law will change the history of mankind.
Of the past 3,400 years, humans have been entirely at peace for 268 of them, or just 8 percent of recorded history. There are 12,703battles since 2500 B.C. (created by a Dutch company LAB1100) Explore the map here. At least 108 million people were killed in wars in the twentieth century. Estimates for the total number killed in wars throughout all of human history range from 150 million to 1 billion. War causes universal misery. Wars made internally displaced people, refugees and casualties. “There was never a good War, or a bad Peace.” (Benjamin Franklin) “Who can compensate for the death of the youth? A Country? No one can do.” (Man hee Lee, Chairman of HWPL)
The Chairman Man hee Lee of HWPL asked, “People who are gathered here, is there any want who want war?.”
No one answered. The Chairman Lee continued that “War sacrifices many lives and destroys many buildings. If there is anyone who wants war, please raise your hand.” With silence–, no one raised their hands. The Chairman Man hee Lee shouted strongly, “When there’s war, who is the one who is fighting in front of battle line that is the youth. We are born in the same world, same generation, but their lives cannot blossom, but their lives are lost in the battle!”
The Chairman Lee continued, “Now, we need to make a peaceful world to live. And when we inherit peaceful world to our future generation, nothing would be more valuable. That is why we need to urge all of our presidents. We need to urge them for the world to become peaceful sooner. I’m not saying something wrong. Am I? We have to make our world, our global village being paradise. This is our duty. And, this is what we have to do.” Everyone gave a standing ovation.
How can DPCW guarantee Right to Peace?
Law experts agreed that the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) is fully aligned with the UN Charter &theUDHRand this Declaration not only encapsulates and supports all of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Also, HWPL is recognized by experts and foreign media that we have never seen a peace organization that achieved so much in such a short period of time. How can? The strength of the DPCW lies in its representation of the voice of all those yearning for peace, calling on States to protect their rights to enjoy peaceful lives. Why UN has no choice to adopt?
On Friday 7 September 2018, delegations of Permanent Missions of the United Nations (UN) and HWPL gathered at the Office of the Commonwealth (New York) to discuss the promotion of sustainable peace and human rights. Also, they discussed intensively the way to promote the 918 WARP Summit, the center of the peace movement. Because the walks of HWPL are alignment with the core purposes of the United Nations, the delegations have no choice but to support the 918 WARP Summit, the Peace Festival which 7.6 billion become One. When they shout ‘WE ARE ONE!’, they become ‘the messengers of peace’. If they followed the peace initiatives led by HWPL well, it is possible to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
“It is time all nations and all people live up to the words of the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights, which recognizes the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of
all members of the human race. This year marks the 70th anniversary of that landmark document.” – Secretary-General António Guterres
So, the United Nations will adopt the DPCW and peace is coming.

Alliance of Religions
Discussing the spirit of peace written in scriptures to step forward onto the road of world peace
Religion is returning to its original role in restoring peace. TheWARP Officewas established to resolve conflicts and misunderstandings among religious groups. The Chairman Man hee Lee‘s clear religious guidelines lead religious people in the right direction today.
The Chairman Man hee Lee said, “If religions are in harmony with each other, there will be no reason to fight. To achieve harmony among religions, people of religion should examine and compare theirscripturesto find the truth and become one in that truth. People of religion are responsible for leading people of the world in the right path.”
In the WARP Office, leaders from various religious groups gather to discuss religion and the Bible. It is being held in major cities around the world. The purpose of this comparative study of religious scriptures is to return religion to its original role and become one religion according to the creator’s will. The WARP Office promotes understanding and harmony among many religions in the world for the peace of mankind.
One religious leader emphasized, “We should support the WARP Office discussions, as the significant link and the great network for the worldwide religious institutions and spiritual leaders, to show the cooperation and solidarity of all religious leaders, and to send the message of tolerance, peace and unity to all people around the world.”
The Storyof WARP Office
Seeing the current status of the religious war, HWPL thinks the solution of peace. ‘How can we make it?’ The answer they found is the Scriptures. Because it represent the accumulation of not only the spiritual and moral teachings of the respective faiths, but also a fundamental standard of human conduct.
Why Scripture? Although the common objective that all religion is the great things, these messages are often overlooked by people. Because religious people fight with each other first. They showed hostility and started a war. So peace is becoming an elusive concept. So HWPL approach towards the root cause of this hostility between faiths, defined as the misunderstandings that arise from the misinterpretation of these scriptures. Eminent religious experts recognized it as an ‘Innovative Approach’. The alliance of religions is the earnest hope of all humanity.
Spreading throughout the world
The World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office Meetings began from the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit in 2014 where representative leaders from 12 religions, along with 950 participants, signed the Unity of Religion Agreement. At that time, the WARP OfficeMeeting was established and it has been actively practiced worldwide since then. In the short three years from its official beginning, the WARP Offices have seen rapid expansion with 218 offices now operating in 126 countries. With approximately 2,500 representative religious leaders as participants, it enhanced the level of understanding of various religions.
Do you know what culture was created? Religious leaders want to seek true peace-building and harmony among religions based on correct understanding. And they dedicated themselves to thoroughly researching what a “trustworthy scripture” should contain.
91 percent of all religious leaders agreed that the following six attributes, 1) Good and Evil, 2) Birth, Aging, Sickness and Death, 3) The Spiritual Realm, 4) Cleansing of Sins, 5) History and Genealogy, and 6) Prophecy and Fulfillment
Religious Youth Peace Camp
The aim of the HWPL Religious Youth Peace Camp is to engage youth and youth organizations in dialogue and conflict transformation activities based on inter-religious and inter-cultural learning.
Camp participants learn about the general history of world religions, find the root cause of and plausible resolutions to religious conflicts and disputes, examine the religious community’s roles for peace, and experience cultural exchanges.
1&2 HWPL Intercontinental Online WARP Office
On 24 March 2018, the first Intercontinental Online WARP Office Meeting was held. The topic of this WARP Office meeting was “What is the root of evil and how can we eliminate evil? Where does it come from? How can we eliminate it according to your respective religion?” The religious leaders, who participated in meeting, were specially selected as outstanding leaders at worldwide. It made it easy for anyone to be able to see and participate in audience questions by broadcasting their discussion. It is also designed to promote WARP offices to religious societies and civil society, and to spread the culture of seeking truth.
“When the light of heaven shines in the hearts of people, it becomes the light that never fades away.” – the Chairman Man hee Lee
One Netherlander said, “It is amazing that people from different religions can meet and communicate with each other about peace. I think peace and harmony of religions can be achieved as we continue to do this work.”

What Wars are Going on Now?
There are 5 ongoing wars in the world. Let me know if more wars happen.
• Afghanistan • Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) • Syrian Civil War • Yemeni Civil War • Boko Haram Insurgency
Afghanistan (7 October 2001 – present)
Growing political tensions and infighting has created an increasingly volatile environment in Afghanistan. This conflict started on 7 October 2001. In the past 16 years, al-Qaeda and Taliban government was destructed. Osama bin Laden was dead. Despite the fact that Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour was killed by a drone strike in May 2016, the group has regularly launched relentless attacks around the country. Adding to the instability, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has continuously attempted to establish the foundation in Afghanistan.
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) (1999 – present)
ISIS causes a major obstacle to peace not only in Iraq and Syria but also in Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan. Within the past year, the group has launched some of its most deadly terrorist attacks outside of the Middle East region, including in Bangladesh, Belgium, France, Germany, Turkey, Pakistan and the U.S. It’s hard to measure due to global terrorism, but the U.N. estimates ISIS is responsible for more than 18,000 civilian deaths in Iraq in the past two years alone.
• Total killed : 410,800 • Civilians killed : 106,000 • Missing : 56,900 • Not documented : 100,000+ (The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, as of March 2018)
Syrian Civil War (15 March 2011 – present)
Now in its sixth year, the Syrian Civil War has created one of the most dire and complex humanitariancrises on earth. Recent reports put the death toll at 470,000, with more than one in ten Syrians having been wounded or killed. An estimated 8 million Syrians have become displaced within the country, and another 4.5 million have sought refuge in neighboring countries and beyond.
In 2014, Houthi rebels took control of the capital Sana’a and a large portion of northern Yemen. President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and his cabinet fled to neighboring Saudi Arabia, where a Saudi-led coalition was formed to counter the Houthi rebellion. The Yemeni Civil War started. It is a humanitarian catastrophe. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) estimates that 14.1 million civilians are dangerously close to starvation.
• Total killed : 50,000+ • Civilians killed : 6,592 • Wounded : 49,960 • Displaced : 3,154,572 • Child died of hunger : 50,000+
Boko Haram Insurgency (2009 – present)
The jihadist rebel group Boko Haram started an armed rebellion against the government of Nigeria. It want to establish an Islamic state based on Sharia law and has spread to Niger, Cameroon and Chad. Nigeria was also targeted in the infamous Chibok schoolgirls kidnapping in 2014, in which about 270 girls were abducted. Boko Haram now controls up to 20 percent of Nigeria and continues to violate human rights and leave millions without access to food, water, shelter or medical care throughout the entire Lake Chad region.
Approximately 210,000 Afghan, Iraqi, and Pakistani civilians have died violent deaths as a direct result of the wars. (As of March 2015) This is not just a number. I’m sitting in front of the computer, tapping on the keyboard, but it’s not just a number. It is a very vivid death in their lives, and they are my family, my father, my mother, my sister, and my brother. But there is no need to despair that the war will not end. Because there are people who have the answer to peace. It is recognized by numerous experts as a strong and practical peace movement. It is the HWPL! HWPL is a really hot peace group to worldwide foreign news these days. Let me introduce an anecdote.
The Chairman Man hee Lee ofHWPL asked, “People who are gathered here, is there any want who want war?.”
