It is no exaggeration to say that war has coexisted with mankind since the beginning of civilization until now.
‘World peace’ has become a more unfamiliar word than ‘WAR’, and everyone wants world peace but no one thinks it is possible.

Can we really achieve a world of peace without war?
Documentary ‘The Great Legacy’ begins with this question.
The documentary crew of the past two years have met Mindanao, the Philippines, who is actually at peace.

Mindanao, the Philippines, where gunshots were always heard, was a representative conflict area in the Philippines.
The conflict between religion and ethnicity, which began in the Spanish colonial period, was so deep that it was thought to be difficult to resolve.

The distrust and hostility, in people’s minds, that grew in the painful process of negotiations that lasted for more than 40 years were scarier than flying bullets.

In such Mindanao, people began to melt weapons to make farming tools, and a procession of 10,000 people eagerly crying for peace filled the streets.
This scene was more surprising than anyone else in the Philippines.

What’s even more surprising is that it started with a Korean peace activist who allowed them to join hands for peace and collect distrust, which was scarier than fighting.

They call him the “Messenger of Peace,” who gave peace and hope that no one could solve.
Those who are expanding peace across the Philippines now ask you that question.

“Do you really want a world of peace?”

1st National Peace Convention to Establish Unity for Peace in the Philippines

The first National Peace Convention is set to take place on January 25, 2023 (Wednesday) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

I want you to experience firsthand the power to achieve peace. There are two days left!

Peace Documentary, “Great Legacy in the Philippines”

  • Can’t there be no war and no quarrel?
  • To what extent can human selfishness destroy each other?
  • Whose job is it to endure the pain? Are they war-makers or ordinary citizens?

These three questions bother me so much. Even if you give an answer easily, the world does not change easily.

But as I have often said, as long as I like peace organizations, they actually change the world. The story was made into a documentary.

A documentary film about the international peacebuilding efforts for Mindanao in the Philippines, one the world’s long-term conflicts sparked by violence that left over 120,000 deaths and millions of displaced persons since the 1960s was released and screened in the Philippines.

A peace documentary titled “Great Legacy” premiered in a cinema in Davao City on the evening of September 6, 2022.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte congratulated by saying, “By showing people documentaries and films on peace, we may encourage more to be one with us in our peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts for our communities.”

“When the light of peace shines in the hearts of people,
it becomes the light that never fades away”

In the film, the former chairperson of the UN Human Rights Commission of the United Nations said that the civil peace agreement in 2014 is an “amazing case of realization of peace that the world should study”.

Someone said “Seeing the Filipinos cheering, I felt the sincerity of the peace activities. Especially, the scene where people’s appearance changed from religious strife to harmony was really touching.”

If you have a chance, it would be nice to see it. It seems to me that peace is not far away. Actually, we just need to change a little bit, but we don’t seem to be trying to change. In fact, we can. If we become one.

In fact, I’ve been thinking about this for a long time.

Why should we seek peace?
Human nature is often far from peace..

Nevertheless, why should we not give up..? Why should it be?

In fact, I expressed it as a long time, but the moment to think about it is very short. It’s a really short moment.. Do you know the answer?

Nevertheless, would we say it’s a value that we should keep?
Is it a key value that a person can remain a person?

That’s true. There are quite a few people who have given up as human beings. Who can determine human qualifications?
Does the standard value exist?

I think a lot of things are connected. The agony of peace coincides with spiritual anguish, and our lives are connected to those of people on the other side of the world.

So I love that shout. “We Are One!!”
And I like people who risk their lives to keep the peace even if they don’t gain anything. I love them.

But I’m busy with a lot of work to make ends meet. So on the other hand, I’m sorry, but I’m trying to help them somehow.
So I write like this. How do you live? I’m curious.

Below is a video that I really want to introduce to you. If you want to feel the culture of peace, please watch it. 🙂

On September 18th, the 8th Anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit was held online with the theme of ‘Peace as an Institution: A Foundation for Sustainable Development’.

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE 8th 918 HWPL World Peace Summit: peace as an Institution WARPsummit manheelee peace quotes manheelee peace biography Manheelee HWPL DPCW 918WorldPeaceSummit 8thAnniversary

HWPL has proposed peace as an institution to resolve the above global threats. The main goal is to weave the values of peace into our social fabric, allowing mutual respect, harmony, cooperation, and co-prosperity.

HWPL’s vision for peace as an institution goes beyond temporary measures to cease conflict actions and pursues peace incorporated into laws, values, and cultures.

Regarding the cause of peacebuilding at the global level, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL said, “The global village has suffered from the unexpected COVID-19 that has hit every country. People are not alone in the midst of difficulties.”

“We live in the same global village, and we are neighbors and families. Each one of us is the one who are obliged to make our world a better place to live. And shouldn’t we pass on our good world to our descendants?”

Mr. Chung Young-min, General Director of the IPYG emphasized the role of youth as the main player of international action for peace by saying that education programs for 1,500 global youth in 59 countries are hosted to “protect the basic rights of youth around the world so that everyone can live a happy life without being left behind.”

I want you to play an important role in peace.

How will the world change if peace becomes a culture?

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE How will the world change if peace becomes a culture? Mindanao peace agreement MILF Man Hee Lee HWPL culture of peace

What is culture? What happens if peace becomes a culture? I feel about the power of culture these days.

Obviously this was a difficult task, but if it is based on people’s common understanding that it is natural, it is done easily. It’s so amazing.

No business, no school, no friends around the students seem to be able to escape the influence of culture. The power of culture from small to large is powerful.

In this reality, there is an international peace organization in Korea that leads the change so that the global village may be imbued with a culture of peace, named Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL).

A STEP TOWARDS PEACE How will the world change if peace becomes a culture? Mindanao peace agreement MILF Man Hee Lee HWPL culture of peace

As a veteran, HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee witnessed the horrors of the Korean War and presented answers for peace and life in the world of conflict and death. Urging everyone in the world to become one in peace, he always shouts ‘We Are One!’.

The representative achievement of the peace steps he and HWPL have made is the fruit of contributing to peace in Mindanao, the Philippines, ending its 50-year history of conflict.

Mindanao was the site of the largest armed conflict in Southeast Asia.

Armed groups have been formed since the 1960s due to accumulated political, economic, and cultural discrimination and contradictions since the colonial period of Spain and the United States.

The MILF, which has been based in Mindanao, was the largest armed force in Southeast Asia as well as the Philippines. In the 2010s, the Philippine government declared an all-out war with the MILF, which resulted in 120,000 casualties.

The Mindanao conflict clearly shows the crisis faced by the global community of the spread of conflict based on ethnic/religious identity that emerged in the 21st century.

Mindanao’s peace was a matter of direct connection to global security issues beyond the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Efforts were made to resolve the dispute after it caused massive casualties. It’s the Mindanao peace agreement.

International private organizations, along with the governments of Japan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Kingdom, supported the peace agreement, including Malaysia, the mediator of the official peace agreement between the government and the MILF.

In addition to the official process, international organizations such as the European Union, Organization of the Islamic Cooperation and various private organizations have begun to establish peace by supporting it and providing humanitarian aid.

[9th HWPL] 525 Peace Walk is a huge, unstoppable flow

Is peace close to us? Isn’t it just words?

I think peace is the highest thing a man can do. Why do people start a war? I think it’s because of selfishness. It’s about falling into a sweet swamp. The swamp people don’t care about others at all.

Isn’t it hard for us to make ends meet? Why should we care about people who don’t even know their faces? Here is the answer.

HWPL’s 9th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace will be held online on 25 May 2022.

On 25 May 2013, not only was HWPL established, but Chairman Man Hee Lee drafted and proclaimed the Declaration of World Peace. The declaration embodies basic principles to build a peaceful world, and seeks to guarantee peace through legal instruments such as international law.

The annual commemoration was planned to remember the spirit instilled in the Declaration of World Peace proclaimed before the World Peace Gate in Seoul, South Korea, on 25 May 2013, and the meaning behind the civil society-led Peace Walks held worldwide.

The world today is seeking ways to promote the institutionalization of peace to safeguard lives and ensure safety from the threats of daily conflicts and war.

International organizations such as the UN, the AU, and the EU are widening research on normative guidelines to peacefully address current conflicts.

This year, HWPL has proposed the institutionalization of peace as a process to establish stable and sustainable peace through the collective will for peace. The collective will to create a world free of war comes from the individuals and groups who engage in the concerted efforts for peace that transcends national borders.

The 9th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace will provide the proof that having citizens continue to march on is the engine for us to get closer to peace even amid the crisis of illnesses and wars.

To this end, various peace projects HWPL is carrying out together with diverse partners will be explained as cases of realizing the collective will and institutionalizing peace.

6th DPCW | Can peace ever be achieved?

Can peace be realized?
Can the war stop?
Can death and pain disappear?

If people could not be selfish, could there be war?

In fact, peace is never an easy problem. However, there are people who constantly strive for peace. It is my favorite peace organization HWPL.

HWPL’s 6th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) will be held online on 14 March 2022.

At this year’s commemoration, under the theme, Institutionalizing Peace: Building a Legal Foundation for Sustainable Peace, HWPL spotlights institutionalization as a foundation to make peace take root and develop.

What is the most realistic and best way to achieve peace?

I couldn’t believe anything in the meantime. That would be the same for you guys. But I realized after seeing the HWPL method.

Since the proclamation of the DPCW, the citizen-led peace project Legislate Peace captured HWPL’s efforts to expand and strengthen the global alliance for peace.

HWPL sets out to draw the blueprint for peace as an institution, which will serve as the cornerstone for the era of peace.

Which of the citizens is most affected by war?

International organizations such as the UN, the African Union (AU), and the EU have recently stressed normative guidance as a standard to set the course for substantial conflict resolution and peace.

Notably, it is recommended that women and youth participate in discussions on peace so that the concerns of the citizens afflicted by conflict are not overlooked.

This is also related to the two wings of HWPL, IWPG and IPYG. Why are they? This is because young people and women are the biggest victims of the war… Who can pay back their lives..?

What is the spirit of the DPCW?

DPCW from Articles 1 to 7 reaffirms the conventional international law and norms for peace order that run current in the international community, including friendly relations, use of force, conflict resolution by international law.

In addition, in Articles 8 to 10, the DPCW suggests an evolved approach to peaceful resolution in response to evolved conflicts.

The spirit of the DPCW recognizes citizens as the main actor of peacebuilding and points to a transition from the rule of power to the governing by law for harmony, fairness, and justice.

8th HWPL Peace Day in Philippines

Hi, I’m Ming, who loves peace.

In fact, we are often busy making a living day by day, but I feel that it’s because my vision is too narrow.

If I look at the wider and bigger world and put my eyes on it, I think I realize that the problems I’m experiencing are small things. 🙂

Today, I want to introduce something that surprised me in the past. He melted the gun to make a sickle. :0

An international online peace conference will be held to celebrate the 8th anniversary of a civilian-led peace agreement in Mindanao on the 24th of January. The day was designated as the HWPL Peace Day by the Province of Maguindanao and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in the Philippines.

The event, under the theme of “Law of Peace in Heaven and on Earth” is supposed to gather more than 2,000 social representatives.

In addition, this event will serve as a venue to raise public support for establishing an international law for peace based on the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) and to promote interfaith harmony between religions.

I personally think the HWPL method is very wise.
Moving citizens, this is their way. 🙂

It’s already the 8th…? It’s cool that they seem to move forward every year.

Peace is a direct feeling. Peace is difficult to come close unless you think and act in person and meet people. Scatter your good influence around you from now on!

The names of the 14 notable people are written in the article, so go take a look. Many people are trying for peace.

It seems that there are no such people around us, but people who want peace are connected anywhere in the world. Like a network of lights!

HWPL is not people who stay still. Because of our great unity, we are stronger than anyone else because we are firmly united. Soon a huge snowball will roll. It will create a big wind in the world!

The Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), which is presented as the answer to peace, remains a strong solution.

The DPCW has already been enacted as a National Declaration in several countries worldwide, including Antigua and Barbuda, Seychelles, and Eswatini, and international organizations such as the Central American Parliament.

I hope you can be the light of peace!

Man Hee Lee Quotes: 7th HWPL World Peace Summit

The replay link has come out! I think there is only one key point. That we are one! Why should we be one?

The reason why we don’t know the reason is that we’ve never been one. But I realized what it was to be one by watching HWPL’s events every year.

Is it realistic to think about the real possibility of peace? No.
We have the power to make it a reality. Its power is youth and women.

And there is the Chairman Man Hee Lee, who leads all of them at the center.
I want to introduce his quotes.

“Due to the emergence of COVID-19, the world is going through a very difficult time. Dear members of HWPL, with not a single person left behind, let us strive together to reach the destination we all hoped to arrive at.”

“What is our purpose? It is to bring wars to an end and build a peaceful world to pass it down as a lasting legacy for our future generations. To this end, I have gone on 31 tours across the globe.”

“What you had said is still vivid in my mind and alive. Until the day our goal is reached, let us not change. What do we always say? We say, ‘We are one.’ We are one.”

“What is the purpose embodied in this slogan, “We are one”? It is to end all wars and to make a peaceful world to leave it as a lasting legacy for future generations. With such determination and goal, we have met, and I went on global tours again and again for this.”

“We will do so by being one in heart and mind. When I visited your countries, what did we promise? We promised to be one, with “We are one,” and pledged to jointly achieve peace.”

“Everyone, in this world, people value things such as wealth and power, but what is more valuable is a peaceful, warless world. Without peace, anything we build will be destroyed in the end. This is why all of us need to cooperate and achieve peace in one heart.”

I think it’s comforting that there are people who act for peace somewhere in the world.

love peace… I wonder how beautiful it means.

Who wants peace? I actually think we all want peace. But in fact, we don’t seem to have time to think about peace because we’re too busy making ends meet.

But I think we can do that because we are safe. Because that’s not my job. But there are still people whose parents died in the war right now. People die every day in disputed areas.

In the end, we all become one community. No matter how far away we are, it seems most important to know that we are one.

HWPL is the most powerful peace organization that practices this meaning. In particular, civic groups of HWPL really love peace. I think the power of young people(IPYG) and mothers(IWPG) will break through any difficulties ahead of us.

Mr. Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, said “What’s our goal? To end the global war. To achieve peace and make it an eternal legacy for future generations.

What did we say? We said, ‘We are one.’

I remember the days when we ran together hoping for one wish.
We shouldn’t just look at this global village. We need to achieve our goal, right?

Who would work on this? HWPL family should do it, right? It’s our mission. There’s nothing bigger than this.
Should the global village be destroyed by war? It shouldn’t happen. It is not love, but destruction. We have to love, right?
We all have to love like one body.

People usually like money and power, but what’s better than that is to achieve peace without war.
Without peace, no matter what we have achieved, everything will be destroyed.
Lastly, let’s talk about the one thing we promised and shout it out together. We are one! Thank you.”

The Pandemic prevented us from meeting, but we became more connected. It’s like a network of lights.

In fact, I want to say everything in the video one by one.
You can feel it and know it when you see it in person.
I wish I could feel the power of HWPL.
