World class pop stars and producers are singing for World Peace of Korea.

It is Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

When I heard this news, I can’t understand ‘Why do world stars make songs for Korea?’ It is amazing. Why?

It is a one of ‘One K Global Project’.

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will create songs that include meaning that ‘A unified Korea will contribute to world peace‘. They say “This song is not just for Korean, for all of us that protect human rights and peace”.

When did he say that? Where?

In 2016 August International Young Leaders Assembly(IYLA) was held at U.N. headquarters. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis said here. Wow.

Are you curious? Who are Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis?

They are producer of the global pop stars including Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Boyz II Men, Usher. Also they won ‘Grammy Awards‘ six times.

Do you know Peabo Bryson? He is a U.S. pop singer to sing the theme song of ‘Beauty and the Beast‘.

What’s more surprising is that Metropolis Studio is in charge of marketing and global distribution.

Starting with the concert in Philippines on March, ‘One Concert K‘ will be held for unification of Korea in 10 foreign countries including the United States, China and Japan.

Domestic and Foreign 737 civic groups took part in ‘One K Global Project’.

It is amazing. 🙂 I hope they will success to achieve World Peace.

“The death of a child refugee. Then after a year, Not remain in our minds”

It is first anniversary of a child refugee’s Death. Do you remember ‘Alan Kurdi’?

He is a child refugee. Last year he became enormously famous. Because he appeared dead on the beach. While trying to go to Europe to avoid civil war, his mother(35) and his brother(5) were drowned. Then all the world wanted to help the refugees.

His father said “Then after a year, that movement is all gone.”

What did you feel?

What did you do?

How is your plan going now?

He pointed out that “People are still dying in the Mediterranean, and dangerous boats with illegal refugees continue.”

He appealed “I hope the world leaders to stop a Syria civil war as soon as possible.”

The Mediterranean is the fuss now. Thousands of people were overthrown, and Thousands of people were rescued. But all do not get involved this problem.

Now there has been a lot of talk about the Colombian civil war.

What we now have, is the Syria civil war

I want to end war. 🙂 Refugee is our friend.

Candlelight rally 1.7 million people in Seoul. Nationwide total is 2,320,000 people. “How far that little candle throws his beams!”

No one ever expected that so many people came together. Everyone think “citizens are tired in candlelight rally that lasted for a long time.” This is the sixth Candlelight vigils. But huge crowds pour into nationwide. Candlelight vigils is being held in 70 places of the country. 200,000 in Busan. 100,000 in Gwanju. 50,000 in Daejeon.

1,700,000 people in Seoul. Nationwide total is 2,320,000 people.

PEACE CULTURE

Even though so many people came together, Non-violent culture is still. Any one is not taken to the police. They march in 100 m front of Cheong Wa Dae. It is the shortest distance until now. This peaceful protest is unprecedented in world history.

Many amazing things happened. When one citizen suddenly collapsed, police officers hand over hot packs. Wow.

Second, one citizen threw flowers for peace performance. Then, people say “Don’t hit by flowers” I was impressed.

And there were citizens to put flower stickers on police car.

Also foreign interests is hot. They expressed surprise in particular about orderly and peaceful assembly culture.

Nobel peace prize : Colombia peace agreement “It is passed. Now remaining task is ‘implementation’

Do you remember ‘2016 Nobel peace prize’? Santos president win the Nobel peace prize. Why? The Nobel committee support ‘Colombia peace agreement’. I introduce the reason why It is rejected. They failed to consider the victims’ anger. The problem is that they are too generous to FARC(Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia).

I expect They all discussed everything and ironed out the details. So They All will agree.

But How about now?

Santos government only passed Colombia peace agreement by parliamentary vote instead of The referendum. The agreement was carried by a unanimous vote. The opponents are not appearing to protest. They say “Colombia people refuse it. How can the Congress approve it?”(according to AFP)

Such reasons, Some pointed out that there are limitations to this agreement.

Now ‘implementation’ is important. Success or failure depends on how much disarming FARC are protected. There are many such an opinion.

I think They more need conversations for their anger than protection of their enemy. Citizens will be further anger if they do things in this way. They should not think that people are a fool. Who win hearts and minds will achieve peace.

Culture sure will lead world to peace. Let’s give peace to our mind. I think It is better to make new culture for Colombia. I get this idea from HWPL(Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light). Isn’t this word itself amazing? From what I know Asian culture, American culture and popular culture is all.

It is Heavenly Culture.

HWPL(Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) are very good at peace work. Their execution skills are amazing.

Why am I interested in international law?

Now In Korea, Our new nation was built. This micronation’s name is ‘scheleland(maybe incorrect)‘.

How old is the president? He is 12 years old.

Where? On the roof of grandmother’s house.

Why did he found a nation? What’s surprising is that It is not joke. He is a very correctly recognize the reality. The reality is so absurd that, he feels. It is concrete and innovative. Also he made their own flag, money and the Constitution.

What’s surprising is establish diplomatic relations with Republic of Užupis. This nation has around 7,000 inhabitants, nearly 1,000 being artists. Wow.

I am in tears when a young chap announced the Constitution. He announced “SOVEREIGNTY RESTS WITH THE PEOPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SCHELELAND. ALL POWER COMES FROM THE PEOPLE”.

I’m interested in international law here. “What is law? What Role Does It Play?”

What is Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW)?

Existing international law can not resolve the war.

The war should never happen.

So, New international law should be created.

It is birth background of Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW).

I like this one best. Most say “The war can’t finish.” But this law says “The war must end.” This is groundbreaking and moving.

Introduce one of them. It is Article 6.

Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) – Article 6 “Dispute settlement”

1. States should recognize the obligation to settle their international disputes through peaceful means including reference to the International Court of Justice, other judicial bodies, regional judicial arrangements, or through arbitration, mediation, conciliation, or other forms of alternative dispute resolution and in such a manner that international peace and security are not endangered. States should carry out any judgment or decision reached by a judicial body in good faith.

2. All states are encouraged to accept the compulsory jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice, in accordance with Article 36, paragraph 2, of the Statute of the Court, without reservations, as a means of ensuring that disputes are settled peacefully and in accordance with international law.(http://peacelaw.org)

The Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) aims at promoting the strengthening of the dispute settlement mechanism at the international level.

The war must be forced to end.

Let’s make Christmas cake!!!

Now, Christmas is coming soon in one month. There are multi-colored pretty lights dangling big tree and couples will walk arm-in-arm down the street.

On such a nice day, I’m wondering if we should try a gift to family or lovers. Gift is to make a pretty cake for them. Therefore I will introduce you about the Christmas cake to make at home. There are many kinds of cake such as sweet potato cake, chocolate cake. Among these by far the greatest is strawberry cream cake.

From now on, let’s learn how to make strawberry cream cake.

First, Cake sheet

First, ingredients of cake sheet are flour (Soft flour) 70 g, three eggs, sugar 60 g, butter 20 g, 18 cm round cake mold, hand mixer and parchment paper.

In advance Eggs are removed from refrigerator an hour ago at room temperature.
Melt the butter and sift flour. Add the eggs and sugar on the bowl and whisk the cream.
When whipped cream become ivory color and firm, add sifted flour and mix evenly with melted butter.
Make a sheet with parchment paper in the 18cm circular frame and then pour the batter.
Dab three times up and down and preheat oven to 170℃ and then bake for 25 minutes.
Cool completely cake sheet and cut a top of cake flatways, and cut horizontally in half again.

Second, Toppings

Second, ingredients of toppings are strawberries 500 g, cream 300 cc and 2 tablespoons sugar. Ingredients of syrup are water 60 cc and 2 tablespoons sugar.

Whisk the cream firmly with sugar, cut the white part of strawberries and cut in half lengthwise. Boil syrup with water and sugar and cool it.
Apply syrup moistly to two sides of cake sheet that we already cut.
Put the bottom of sheet cake on plate and brush top with whipped cream.
Put a round cake mold and put strawberries around the dish so that you see cross section of the strawberries.
Fill the middle part with whipped cream and remaining strawberries.
Lastly fill it with cream to the top and place cake sheet over cream.
When It held its shape in refrigerator, remove a cake mold, spread evenly on top with whipping cream and decorate with strawberry and herbs.
It is complete!!!

With the year coming to an end, make a cake and other tasty dishes. 🙂

Candlelight Vigil in Korea : “A country belongs to the people”

Now in Korea candlelight protests were steadily being held. We can see many people. There were mothers dragging a stroller, families coming hand in hand, middle and high school students and Elder people who come with friends. It is strange enough to not come. You can tell how much hot the atmosphere is, is it right?

How many are there?

1,000,000 in Gwanghwamun Gate.

Really a large number of people gathered. But I don’t know well about politics. I want to emphasize the meaning in that many people gathered.

Mature Sense of Citizenship

But Candlelight Vigil is peaceful. Violent demonstration can occur but mature sense of citizenship stop it. There are citizens who pick up some trash and who cry out to protect police line.

High Level of Rally Culture

Before the violence, they satirizes society. The whole town is in festive mood. Many musicians came out and performed together. Celebrities are making comments as well. Every kind of parody also are constantly made. Now new culture is being made. I’m looking forward to the future. 🙂

Today is College Scholastic Ability Test day : the land of the morning calm

Today is College Scholastic Ability Test day

Korea is called ‘the land of the morning calm’. Korea is so silent in this morning. Why? Today is the Doomsday that determines the fate of 600,000 people.

12 years will be determined by a single day. Or maybe most of their life is determined by the day. They comfort each other in saying “That is not everything”.

It is a very important day for Koreans.

The police are taking a friend who are late. And all who see him are clapping loudly.

In front of test sites, Every Junior come out and They are cheering passionately.

When you see it, It’s a little bit funny.

Mothers always have a hard time.

I’m sorry even to comfort them. The students study too hard and Mothers are too dedicated. I just hope they will be a nice newcomer. 🙂

Jimmy Carter’s Carter Center : The Forefront Of Peace

Do you know ‘Carter Center’?

Carter? Didn’t you hear a lot? Yes. It is ‘Jimmy Carter’.

He is famous in Korea because he negotiated with North Korea to stop war. He is the first man who visited to North Korea.

After his retirement, Jimmy Carter’s movements is assessed at the greatest among former presidents.

At the center of that movements, there was ‘Carter Center’.

‘Carter Center’ did a significant contribution to the human rights as well as rearranging of international disputes. It made him win the Nobel Peace Prize 2002.

In the early years of the Carter Foundation, Carter established some important management principles as follows.

The Center emphasizes action and measurable results. Based on careful research and analysis, it is prepared to take timely action on important and pressing issues.

The Center seeks to break new ground and not duplicate the effective efforts of others.
