Do you know a ‘gap year project’? Before entering college, many students take a gap year! Internationally it has been known well but in Korea no one doesn’t know. ‘Gap year’ is a year’s break that aimed at promoting a mature outlook with which to absorb the benefits of higher education.(wiki) In Korea college students suffered ‘freshman syndrome‘. Because problem of employment is too painful. They forget all with drinking. Even they didn’t know what they wanted to do.

History of Gap year project

The gap year began in the United Kingdom in the 1960. When it was successfully introduced in England, Ireland introduced it as a ‘transition year’. European countries began to introduce it because of higher participation and satisfaction. Harvard University, MIT and Princeton University introduced it to prevent a drop out. Why do they drop out? Because they can’t find their career aptitude. What is the result? It is very nice and they are full of confidence. As a result, college recommend it before entering.

Is it a Real ‘Gap year’?

The Gap year is a very good idea. But is it a real gap year? Don’t you travel for break or memory? I don’t say it is bad. Honestly, What is the difference between overseas study and gap year? Can you make it different? It’s up to you!

Role of congressman : Humble yourself

What is my value?

What am I? Why do I exist? What is my work? What is my mission? An incident that make us think occurred in Korea. There were floods in various parts of the city. But four provincial member go to foreign country for study for 10 days. Stops are Paris, Avignon, Nice, Firenze and Milano and etc. They got a beating by a group of public opinion. Because their province had the worst flood damage in 22 years. Role of congressman Korean comes to fore. They were expelled from their party. I think it may be a little harsh. But Humble yourself.

They took part in recovery efforts with heavy expressions. “When I come to visit the damaged sites, I am more sorry for victims” and “I accept the reprimand humbly and participate in restoration until recovery is fully achieved.” Another one said “I should’ve given it more thought. I will show you my sorry” Can you believe it? Is it a real heart? I think it’s a problem in any country. How do we go through? I think it may be a chance. If you hide a problem, it will explode! Don’t hide, just fix it! It is a real humility. Just saying that “I’m sorry” is not humility. It doesn’t have any meaning. It is not a fundamental solution. We can change the world.

Are you hands clean? If not, you‘d better wash your hands. Why? Because you must pick up your CEO with your hand. Didn’t you almost pass out? I was really surprised at first. If you want to be a team leader, you should be more than 50 percent of an approval rating. If you want to be a CEO, you should be more than 70 percent of an approval rating. Aren’t you fun? Phew, it’s hot, isn’t it? Now Korea is so hot. I came to Korea from Australia for a while. When I go out, I feel like I’m melting. Everything is melting! It’s like ‘the persistence of memory’ by Salvador Dali. How to leave summer? Do you know any other method? Take a cold shower and sit in front of a fan, right? Me, too. Ice cream is so cool! Ordinary College Student : How to break through?

Youth is sick, right?

A freshman often said “I don’t know what I want to do.” A sophomore said “The first grade is the time to play really hard.” A Senior in college said “Honestly I really don‘t know what to do.” And forget the whole thing while drinking. And they have a terrible hangover together. Comfort each other saying it’s a sick day of youth. Ordinary college students, it is.

And some ordinary college student devoted her life to prepare for a civil service exam. They must give up many things to prepare for the test. What? Date, marriage, childbirth, Owning a home and human relations. Futhermore, dream and hope. Obviously, a few people are the master of their fate. But the majority of people are suffering. It is the point.

Are you depressed?

Secrets of Google : How google work?

Google quarterly announced to employees. Announce what? Information that the management reported to the Board of Directors. There are many secrets enough to be classified as confidential but they tell employees frankly. Then Larry Page, ceo of google, announced what’s at stake and assignment. That’s not all. Just over 10 departmental senior vice president described the impact of announcement to his staff. And then Vice President – Director – individual employees share opinions by narrowing its scope. 30,000 employees must go through this process without exception. It takes two~three weeks. It’s the Secrets of Google!

Through this procedure, Employees set own goals. My goal is to be the goal of the company and company’s goal is to be my task. And share every Friday at ‘TGIF’ event. What will happen at the end of the quarter? Go up-stream! Employees talk how much they achieved in 3 months. And share it with team leader – Director – Vice President – CEO. How amazing it is! It really could be called God’s job.

So it has a powerful influence. For example, there are AI, IoT, cloud computing, big data, 3D printing and nano technology. It’s cool! But if you don’t catch up with the times, it’s a recipe for disaster to you. For someone it may be a golden opportunity.

A Aleppo boy unveiled ‘Nightmare of Syrian jail’

Why Peace?

What do you think is the most terrible thing in the world? Snake? Ghost? I think it’s a ‘Syrian jail’. Do you know ‘Sednaya Prison‘? It is a military prison near Damascus in Syria. A Aleppo boy(15 years old) was imprisoned for 10 months two years back. The awful thing is that Sednaya Prison is called killing field. Recently, this boy sent ‘a record of Syrian prison’ to the Guardian, British daily.

“Today is the UN’s International Day for Support of Victims of Torture. Unfortunately in Syria, there is no shortage of victims of torture. Tens of thousands of us have been thrown in Assad’s prisons and tortured beyond what our bodies and minds can take.”

“When I was first arrested, I was taken to security branch headquarters near Damascus, where I was tortured during sessions of interrogation for 58 days straight. After 58 days of this treatment, I had no choice but to sign false confessions that the interrogator himself wrote. I put my name to offences I had never committed, and confessions about people I had never met. I was even forced to sign a document that accused my brother of being an armed rebel.”

Saydnaya is where you go to die

“I was held in that branch for four-and-a-half months, then moved to the political security administration at Fayha’ in Damascus. Here I was tortured in even more ways. I was given electric shocks on sensitive parts of my body; suspended from the ceiling; tortured using brutal methods known as “wind carpet”, “the wheel”, and “the bed”. This went on for another three months.”
