Peace is Coming!!! HWPL : 2nd Annual Commemoration of WARP Summit

Last year, I posted ‘2nd Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit 2017’. I encounter with HWPL first. In fact, I want peace but I always think ‘Is it really possible?’. But I can’t give up! I find and find. Then, I see the ‘2nd WARP Summit 2016′. 100,000 people gathered. WARP Summit can be divided into three part.

First. Conferences and Forums.
Second. “Peace March”-themed world parade and traditional cultural performances.
Third. “War and Peace“ cards section performances.

How about this Year?

And I’m really looking forward to 3rd WARP Summit 2017! This time, what new things they show? I really like their ‘Heavenly culture‘. What is it? It is to live according to the principles and values of heaven, a place that gives light, rain and air without boundaries. I upload it beneath. Sounds promising, right? Never pass up this chance! child refugee : Alan Krudi Syrian refugee 2 years

“The death of a child refugee. Then after a year, Not remain in our minds”

It is first anniversary of a child refugee’s Death. Do you remember ‘Alan Kurdi‘?

He is a child refugee. Last year he became enormously famous. Because he appeared dead on the beach. While trying to go to Europe to avoid civil war, his mother(35) and his brother(5) were drowned. Then all the world wanted to help the refugees.

After 2 years : What we do

Then, all over the world feel responsible and weep together, but after 2 years the situation was developing tragically. The people don’t want refugees, immigrants and Muslim because of fear of terror attack. Actually I understand it. I’m also horrible. But we can’t turn our face away. In fact I turn away many times. I’m sorry to say that, I’m sorry. Now writing, I’m thinking a little about refugees. But soon I go back to my daily routine. I’m sorry to Krudi, Alan’s father whose everyday is painful.

End War : Our mission

Krudi, Alan’s father cry out that anyone can be refugee and call sympathy for immigrants, not only child refugee. He said “After Alan, thousands of child refugee dead. The solution of refugee problem is to end war. Stop talking! It is time to put up or shut up. We must end War that is a root cause of refugee. Refugees want to go home”

North Korea nuclear : Peace Messenger, Together

North Korea nuclear program : H-bomb

In 2017 September, 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at North Korea. Have telephone calls without a break. “is it a nuclear? War? Is it a just earthquake?” That’s right. The North’s sixth nuclear test took place. What nuclear? It is the hydrogen bomb. It has tremendous destructive power. That is 3,800 times of atomic bomb blast on Hiroshima. Also it lead to condemnation from around the world. North Korea nuclear.

I sometimes have an anger at North Korea. If they hurt innocent people, I can’t forgive them. But at times I thank for North Korea. They made us recognize the need for peace. In May 25, 2013 The Declaration of World Peace was proclaimed.
In Sep 16-19, 2014 World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit
In Sep 18-19, 2015 Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts
In Nov 12-13, 2015 Committee meeting convenes to draft the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War
In March 14, 2016 New international law was proclaimed by HWPL International Law Peace Committee(more info). It was called DPCW(Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War). (DPCW is here)

Vision of Peace law : Step by Step

‘Legislate Peace Campaign‘ was active to present DPCW to the United Nations.(campaign page) Now 300,000 people is moving fast. For Peace! Finally, they call on world leaders and governments to develop and enforce a law based on the principles of the DPCW. They are passionate and strong. What happened for a year? ‘Legislate Peace’ was started from 2015 May. How many people are participated in?

Why ‘Legislate Peace Campaign‘? It is based on Article 10 “Spreading a culture of peace” I write it at the bottom. Actually the effect of culture is very powerful. It affects you unconsciously. To change the world was difficult, but that’s the easy bit. Why difficult? Why easy? If you want to change the world, it is hard. But if you change yourself, it is very easy!

DPCW Article 10 “Spreading a culture of peace”

1. States should recognize and engage with groups and organizations that seek to further the cause of peace as a global movement. States should facilitate such groups in their awareness-raising activities, including providing tuition in human rights and peace studies, as provided for, inter alia, in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 1999 UN Declaration on a Culture of Peace.

2. States should recognize that, in order to preserve a lasting culture of peace, public awareness of the need for, and value of, peace should be created. In this regard, states are encouraged to facilitate activities, commemorations, and initiatives that engage public consciousness with peace, including the erection of peace monuments as an alternative to war monuments.

3. Heads of state and heads of government should acknowledge that they are uniquely well placed to encourage a culture of peace, and should act to support this declaration to bring about the cessation of war.

4. States should promote a culture of peace including ensuring conditions in which-
(a) citizens are able to participate in the political affairs of the state as equals regardless of religious or ethnic differences;
(b) a free media is maintained which allows grievances to be aired and addressed;
(c) education is imparted to promote respect and mutual understanding among different religious, belief and ethnic groups;
(d) the right to development of peoples, including the achievement of the UN sustainable development goals, can be realized; and
(e) the well-being of all human kind with the participation of women and men to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst nations, states, and peoples may be guaranteed.

ECO Campaign : Restore Renew Nature’s Green

Greenery : Color trend of the Year 2017

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone’s color consulting arm, said. Why Greenery? It is a symbolic color of ECO campaign. What do you think about ‘ECO‘? Eco-friendly goods are more popular. These days, some of my friends have a lot of concern for the environment. So I write this posting 🙂

ECO Campaign : Change the World

There is a flock of ideas. First, Green roof. Noted that there were so much effect. Absorbing rainwater, Providing insulation, Decreasing stress of the people and Helping to lower urban air temperatures and mitigate the heat island effect. Second, Vertical forest(Bosco Verticale) project. It is a pair of residential towers in the Porta Nuova district of Milan, Italy. It is just a tower. Tree tower! This vertical forest has 900 trees(550 and 350 trees respectively). It has the same effect of 7,000 square meter forest. It’s so amazing!

ECO Campaign “Color the world greenery”

Third, I want to introduce you a film. Dare to Be Wild(2015) Review If you want a gentle movie like ‘Begin again’ We can see beautiful picturesque greenery of being at one with nature. It is a story of one landscape designer who want to attempt to win a Chelsea Flower Show. You won‘t be sorry. 🙂

Barcelona terror protest : “We are not afraid”

Barcelona terror protest : What you afraid?

Do you know what happened? On August, 500,000 people gathered in Barcelona. It is the ‘Barcelona terror protest’. This is no small thing. They shouted “We are not afraid”! When looking at people, they wanted something. What do you see? I can see a mature sense of citizenship. They really want peace. They heartily comfort victim and families of the victims. I’ll tell you what happened. Teens and twenties rammed a van into pedestrians walking along Las Ramblas killing 15 and injuring more than 100. What’s more cool? Their slogan is #Imnotafraid #NoTincPor.

Who doesn’t fear the voice of the people?

I think it seems to be the global trend. The people convey our determination exactly and maturely. For example, In Korea 2,300,000 people gathered every week for their country. It’s my posting 1, posting 2. And In the world many people march for Peace! Those who walked for peace! How cool they are! What can we do more about World peace?

I think we ought to follow the example. Barcelona terror protest is a good example with above examples. Maybe we can think 500,000 people is a lot. In fact, It is not. How many people in Barcelona! It is not many people. What are we afraid of? The indifference of the people. That is what we need to be afraid of. Let’s walk together 🙂

Jurgen Hinzpeter : We don’t forget you

“A Taxi Driver” is about taxi driver Kim Sa-bok who takes Jurgen Hinzpeter to Gwang-ju. At that time, Korean press controlled press reports that a riot arose in Gwang-ju. They reported “Every mob gathered in Gwangju. Also, it was ordered by North Korea.” But the citizens in Gwangju didn’t know anything. Phone communication with the outside have been cut off. Nobody could know the truth. “Suddenly there was a loud bang. Innocent people are dying.” Jurgen Hinzpeter was the first and only journalist to report this horrible scenes. Edeltraut Brahmstaedt, the widow of German journalist Jurgen Hinzpeter, said “My husband was a righteous person who always sought justice. We thank the Gwang-ju people for upholding my husband’s wish to be buried here. He would be proud and thankful.” We don’t forget you. So we made a film ‘A taxi driver’ for him. It has more than ten million viewers now. Thank you very much indeed. Thank you. We can’t forget. Now the truth resounded through the world. Now, it is not a mob disturbance. It is the Gwang-ju Democratization Movement on May 18, 1980. Thank you.

Peace education : Learning Revolution!

What kind of education are you under?

You cannot help but be affected by the world around you. But people are unaware of it. Things that you are thinking now are not yours. If you are born in other country or to other parents, you are the same? Nope. You can’t choose. But you can choose now! Not blame for! Just let’s talk together. Choice requires responsibility. In fact, my heart was heavy. Sometimes I am angry at my sense of powerlessness. But if you know more about our education, you can have the power! Watch this Ted video. Ken Robinson : “Bring on the learning revolution!” Why? I want to say about ‘Peace education‘.

Peace education : Abraham Lincoln

Why peace? Ken Robinson told a anecdote of Abraham Lincoln. in December 1862, he cry out “disenthrall” at the second annual meeting of Congress. January 1, 1863 he issued the Emancipation Proclamation that frees all slaves. They count down together. The revolution brought many changes. That’s what I want to say ‘Peace education’. Lincoln followed peace. So, it is powerful and it can be achieved. If we really want a learning revolution, we need peace education. It can teach ‘Love‘ and can ‘wake‘ you up. Peace is up to you. Please, don’t conform to your routine.

Dead White helmet : Peace is the path

It is really a shocking news. I have had an eye on Nobel Peace Prize candidates because I have a lot of interest in peace. What news? 7 members of ‘White Helmet‘ were killed by unidentified armed men. I don’t know how many. They were shot in the head. Do you know what it means? “Execution” What kind of crime? The international community is angry. It is even more because 7 members are private volunteers who worked tirelessly to save lives in an extraordinarily dangerous environment. We should make it as an opportunity. 7 Dead White helmet is not dead.

What is their will?

The best way to commemorate their deaths is to follow their will. It is unnecessary to talk many things. If we don’t do anything, we should be more angry. So, what is their will? White helmet is made up of Tailor, bakers, carpenters, electricians and other over 3,000 people. Their goal is to save anyone hurt. They claim to advocate moderation. Eventually, what they most wanted is peace. “A world free from wars” Anton Chekhov said ‘We shall find peace. We shall hear the angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds’ I didn’t want their death to be in vain. Dead White helmets must be alive in our heart.

How we can do it?

We already know that war settles nothing and to win a war is as disastrous as to lose one.(Agatha Christie) Actions are necessary now, not words. We should really achieve peace. I want to recommend ‘HWPL‘. “Groundbreaking and substantive” solutions of HWPL is impressive. National Liberation Day [Korea] : Meaning

After 72 years : How are you?

In 1945, Korea gained independence. It is called by ‘National Liberation Day’. Independence is a moving word. I know it after I saw many movies. But it is a brief amount of time. I settle into a routine again and again. My concern is how I could earn a living, how to go out and how to know what I want to do. It may be too small pricks. I can say “The past is past and the today is today. We have new problems on our plate. Our lives are tough too.” I know it. And I know it too. Actually they don’t want to blame to us. Sometimes I want to explain myself. I want to say “It’s not my fault.” I know it. But we must move forward.

What should we do?

광복 : Restoration of Light

National Liberation Day of Korea is called ‘Gwangbokjeol, 광복절’. ‘광복‘ means ‘Restoration of Light’. What it means? Why is this? ‘Liberation’ and ‘Restoration of Light’ mean same? You can think it is a little bit abstract. Restoration means “In the past, all dark” I read an article. It’s really nice. So I scrap it. “To commemorate Independence Day is to truly realize and know what independence means in real life. With this, it is possible to start a true independence for the future. A world without discrimination – righteousness and justice exist and breathe – this is the place where everyone needs to strive together to achieve, and truly become the owners of independence.” This evening I’m more sentimental.
